Lately I’m thinking…

I couldn’t bring myself to put up any party pictures from the last 9 days, i think it’s still too soon. So instead i’ll include this nice picture of a pony

Currently reading…

( & listening to) this little blog post about the mariners announcers making a crazy prediction about a player (tuiasosopo – these guys are everywhere) getting his first home run of the year. check it out – good stuff

Currently watching…

“Chimps on the Edge” I saw some of it on Saturday, but watched the whole thing last night with steph on the discovery channel “explorer show” . I don’t know if I have any credibility, but it was a super interesting show

This is really interesting…

Homecoming is in less than 2 weeks – HAHAHHAHAH…..oh goodness gracious are you serious?

The Soapbox:

Skeelo – it was definitely not my idea to put all my pez dispensers in your dresser drawers. Okay, i’m glad we had that talk.

Shout out to…

Wow, that was quite the 9 day stretch. shout out to Mikey, Nebel, Joey, Holzer, Britt, Ryan, Steph and all the seattle peeps for a fun week and a half. Let’s do it again in 30 years or something

This is really interesting…

Not too sure, but Becca and Ryan might have ruined this guys picture. Personally I’m just glad everyone made it out okay

Lately I’m thinking…

sorry for yesterday’s lack up update, and today’s shorter one. I’m easing my way back into life as a contributing member of society

This status update from Linked In: “Andrew Whittle helped break the Guinness book of world records for ‘most people dressed as Pirates’ at the Portland Pirate’s Festival on 9/20” Uhhh i’m not sure if that’s anything that’s going to help advance your career, unless you’re trying to get a job as an actual pirate. In that case you might want to fly to Somalia, but don’t jack a US ship or you will get sniped (check out the show on the discovery channel)

The Soapbox:

i don’t know what day it is, but have a good one

Lately I’m thinking…

I think I hurt my neck taking this photo

This is really interesting…

Apparently Pearl Jam likes to rock (likes to rock?). I walked out of there and my head was ringing. Fun show though! Ben Harper opened for them which reminded me of the time in college when I got into Ben Harper and also was listening to some Pearl Jam and I made a mix with both artists on it. I called it “Pearl Harper” and still think it’s one of my greatest creative accomplishments….

Shout out to…

Mikey and Nebel for a fun time time in Seattle

This is really interesting…

Joey got here yesterday and at 11:00 PM last night we hit the point where someone asks “what’s a good two person drinking game”. Tanner I’m pretty sure you know what the answer was

The Soapbox:

Sorry for the lack up updates this week. I’ll do better tomorrow. On a side note it’s the first 2 rounds of kickball playoffs tonight. We have a bye in the first and then have a potential matchup against the unicorns for the 2nd week in a row. click this link for some motiviation…GET UP!

This is a picture of the two living things I own – Seeley and my yet to be named plant. I literally started laughing out loud after I took this picture and thought about putting it on my gadget. Maddie, one day down and only 5 more to go on plant care! (even though i haven’t done anything yet, i’m not sure if you’re supposed to)

This article about Ivar haglund – he started the seafood restaurant “ivars” here and was known as one of the greatest self promoters in seattle history. Apparently back in the day he though underwater travel was going to be huge, so he put giant billboards at the bottom of puget sound that said stuff like “Diver’s special, come on up for fish n chips, kids get free jello!”. This could have also fit under the “This is really interesting category”

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m going to see Pearl Jam tonight! Oh and nebel, pretty good points on the gadget. rats

This is really interesting…

So we all now what happened to “LaGarette Blount” on Oregon who was suspended for the year for flipping out in Boise. But did you know the running back who replaced him is named “LaMichael James”! What happens if he gets hurt, are they going to send in LePaul, or maybe LaChristopher! (yes i am aware my name is blade and i don’t have a lot of room to make fun of different names, but honestly at least my name isn’t LeBlade) (Okay actually when i wrote that i said it in a french accent so maybe that will be my french name)

The Soapbox:

Are you guys tired of me talking about Jake Locker yet? Okay Great! Here’s a quote from Pete Carroll a couple days ago: “That’s the best quarterback we’ve played in nine years here. Jake Locker has ridiculous talent, and had he remained healthy last year, Tyrone [Willingham] would still be coaching there.” and then reiterated that quote the next day after being reminded who he has coached against

Uh UW beat usc on saturday. I’m not even sure if it was more fun or more stressful until it was over, I was pretty stressed out during the (what seemed like) 2 hour 4th quarter. Steph was on the jumbo-tron about 3 times

during the game, and when we all rushed the field and got separated Steph found herself next to coach sarkisan. She goes “Hey Sark” and gave him a “side hug”. He then turned around to the two police officers behind him and said “get me out of here”. pretty classic

This is really interesting…

We decided to go out and celebrate like 21 year olds saturday night, and skeelo was in pretty prime form (except when abused my trust and tried to break my back of course). At one point he wanted to tackle mikey, but

couldn’t remember why, so he asked Mikey “give me two reasons why I should tackle you”….”and if they’re good enough reasons I’ll do it”. hmmm I think usually in that case people ask for reasons why they *shouldn’t* tackle you.

Lately I’m thinking…

Well everyone who wasn’t with me on Saturday night missed my last time drinking ever, sorry. I now remember how much i didn’t miss having cuts from doing knee slides in sandals. On a side note, they need to implement

some rules at that bar. At one point I actually wanted them to kick us out so I could go home and they didn’t even blink. They need to get it together.

This is really interesting…

I bought a plant yesterday

Our annual budget for dog collars is apparently in the hundreds of dollars range

Here’s a picture of Steph from Friday after she claimed she wasn’t drunk and would take a sobriety test to prove it. First of all nobody says that unless they are actually drunk, just ask Mikey. Second of all sober people don’t have the patience to stand there looking at the ceiling while counting in their head for 60 seconds, or in her case 45 seconds.

This is really interesting…

We play the unicorns in kickball today in our last game of the regular season. We’re looking to go 4-0 all time against our rivals/favorite team tonight but they seem to be much improved. Tonight should be one of the most fun of the entire season, buckle up!

Lately I’m thinking…

sorry for the no update yesterday, work got in the way. I might try a 2nd add-on update later today

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m seriously only thinking about kickball. And about the string of events going on starting saturday morning and ending the Monday 9 days later…

The Soapbox:

CATS!

This is really interesting…

This photo has been on the frontpage of espn.com for a couple hours today with the text “…to warn powers of the potential pitfalls ahead”. This is NOT helping with my plan that includes usc overlooking uw. why don’t you just hand them the trophy

This is really interesting…

I was just about to pull into the UW store with steph and seeley yesterday, but there were about 12 sorority girls crossing the sidewalk of the entrance. Turns out we knew one of them who was Brett’s friend from school so we kind of stopped in the middle of the road to say hi. Within about 10 seconds one of the other girls says “puuuupy” and they all literally came running over to the car. It was exactly like the burger king mini-burgers commercial. I was basically in a log jam of girl traffic. Brett, let me know if you want to borrow Seeley for a day at school. I think she might work better than my plan of picking up girls in college which involved hanging out with 10-15 guys every night around a drinking games table…

This is really interesting…

I went to REI last night to pick up my half priced tent pads (from a sale a couple weeks ago) and they also gave me a new tent since the zipper on my rain fly broke (mostly due to user error) at the dave concert. I’m obsessed with that store
Shout out to… Stephanie for the chicken bowls last night. I actually ate something that included rice, little green pea things (i can’t remember what they’re called), corn, and some kind of red things all combined into one bowl with chicken. And it was delicious! I should be a judge on top chef or something

The Soapbox:

Seeley is back on $1,202,393,048.99 hypo-allergenic food and we just bought our 2nd vacuum for our 1100 sq foot house. That’s 1 vacuum per 550 sq feet for you folks counting at home

Both the Huskies and the Cats are riding winning streaks. Looks like the cats will try to carry that over to a bye week, while the huskies will try to carry it over against….usc. I’m officially putting usc on upset alert (just don’t tell them, because part of the plan involves them overlooking us). Mikey, lets go to the game

This is really interesting…

So our CEO (who was basically way up the chain at amazon when they went big) had us over to his lake washington house yesterday. uhh that was the nicest house i’ve ever been in. There was like 20 of us which apparently required 4 people catering it cooking hot dogs, hamburgers and handing out ice cream sandwhiches. I then proceeded to have a couple beers out of his tap in the kitchen, then went and jumped on the trampoline in the lake, drove one of the biggest jet skis seadoo makes (seriously, it went scary fast. starting from a complete stop felt like you went completely airborn. Jeff claims he’s got it up to 70 mph, i was too scared to even look down and take my eye off what’s ahead of me), and went out in the lake kayak (tipping over after 2 seconds in the water trying to reach a rope). I didn’t even have time to go tubing behind his boat, enjoy his indoor pool and hot tub, play ping pong, basketball, or play in his always inflated jungle gym thing for bouncing. wow

Currently watching…

there is football on all the time. It’s amazing. Some new commercials I enjoy: the southwest ground crew waving goodbye to the bags and the direct tv ones where tom arnolds just goes on rants for 10 minutes. The pizza hut “jackpot” commercials however are pretty darn annoying, and a little newsflash – it’s not “stuffed crust” pizza if you lay the cheese on top of the crust
This is really interesting… Steph thinks she threw away all of our husky tickets sometime during the move….

The Soapbox:

Skeelo had husky colored beers at the tailgate! sounds like the ncaa wasn’t too big of a fan of that idea though, so i think those days are already gone

PTI on the old DVR (divr) when i get home from work – i love it. I thought Ricky Rubios picture from a couple days ago was pretty funny, i’m not sure why. I mean, does this guy look like he would be as competive as Kobe Bryant or Garnett?

This is really interesting…

Kickball tonight against a 3-1 team, should be a good one. We’re starting to get to the point in the season where there are playoff and seeding implications. This is serious stuff.

Lately I’m thinking…

That the week just seems to be a little bit better with daily gadget updates from holzer. Now if only nebel would figure out his WAM problem and get the Internet on his email machine we would be in business

Lately I’m thinking…

I completely understand why people thought Greg Paulus was annoying, and he was never my favorite player there, but he really should have played more his senior year. I know he wasn’t great on defense (honestly who can guard ty lawson in college) but he became a nails 3 point shooter his junior year out of nowhere. Anyways that was a side note i guess – he’s now playing QB for syracuse football – i didn’t see the game but i read he actually played well. I’d love to see him slap the turf with both hands after a big first down

The Soapbox:

Seeley tried chewing up the cap on a liquor bottle yesterday. By some miracle she left the full bottle leaning almost completely upright with no cap on it and only about half a shot spilled – she must not like the taste of it and immediately stopped when she tasted it. Since the taste seeemed to stop her I’m thinking about pouring it out over everything valuable we have as a preventative measure…but i don’t want to waste the booze.

Current Status…

I’M HYPER! 10! Nate and Shana get back in town tonight, and then it’s to the gorge tomorrow to see some cutting street family members. Oh and at 12:00 PM we have our work fantasy football draft. We’re going in to a conference room so we can all talk trash while we do it so i’m pretty jacked for that as well. I have 2nd pick and i’m thinking of taking Ricky Williams, just like auto draft did for me a couple years ago when he didn’t even play in the NFL. BEEP BOP BOOP

Lately I’m Thinking…

That “leGarette” Blount on Oregon had a bad day yesterday. Here’s his stats from the game: 8 carries for -5 yards, tackled for a safety, stopped short on a 4th down rush, 1 person sucker punched, 4 fans went after. I don’t know who’s the bigger thug – Blount or the mascot (click the video). I think everyone at Oregon (except for Brett, his friends and Zach) needs an attitute adjustment

Shout Out To…

Everyone on Bone City for their 2 kickball wins yesterday. Everyone played really well. Sam got POG in the first for his 87 RBIs, and Fisher in the 2nd for the best catch in kickball history. Moop capped it off with a home run as well. I played 3rd base about the same way as Manny Ramirez would play it, but luckily we had more than enough offense to compensate. Man i get compared to Manny Rameriz all the time….

This is really interesting…

Alaska airlines is having a sale on airline tickets – even ones for Christmas! Holzer you should check it out. I just bought a ticket for homecoming that not only was on sale, but flights from seattle to bozeman in October get an additional 10% off – BAM! I’m excited. I’m probably going to buy my christmas one today too. I just wish they weren’t on the same months credit card bill. Oh and get this, my confirmation code for bozeman is “PAJHNS” – it’s probably the same thing as Papa John’s personalized license plate!!! This is outrageous!

The Soapbox…

Have a fun and Safe EXTENDED weekend everyone!!!!!
