Shout out to…

Heather on her Birthday..day (seen here in a helmet apparently in her own fantasy world). Heather is really smart and talented basically because I taught her everything. Unfortunately Heather has already been reader of the week, and I can’t give it to her twice before Steph has even it once or I’ll be in big trouble, so Reader of The Week will resume next Friday. Have a fun weekend Heather, see you in May for graduation (the plane tickets are non-refundable, so don’t blow it)

Wow, GREAT early morning round of gadgets, what a great day. Hard to believe stalwart (first time word usage, not even sure if it applies) Joey is the only one who hasn’t updated yet. Maybe he put so much stuff in the soapbox yesterday that him and his computer just blew up? I like this line from Nebel’s about the MSU game being played in pullman: “WSU is lame on a number of different levels. Ryan Leaf being at the top of the list. Having the game in Pullman just adds to their already shitty mystique.” I can’t read it without laughing

This is really interesting…

Steph and I went to grab a bite to eat last night (her phone misteriously died when I was going to have her pick up piecoras) and I figured I’d enjoy a nice rum and coke with the meal. The first time they brought it out I’m pretty sure it was tequilla-coke, so I had her try it again. The next time it came out it was Malibu-coke, which i guess despite their best efforts to screw up is at least a kind of rum. Anyways it was terrible and Steph just made fun of me the whole time.

This is really interesting…

I put a Montana State Bobcats sticker in the back window of the Jeep last week, only the window is so tinted and dirty that you can’t see if from outside. You can however see how crooked it is from inside, which is really distracting and annoying. Maybe I should just get a FTG license plate and call it a day? Or does Maddie already have washington rights on that as well? I’m just excited for bobby hauck to be cruising around Vegas one day and see Maddie in his jeep

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!! Hopefully I can stop talking about this soon, but still no idea what’s going on with my foot. I called Swedish and made them send X-ray results to my doctor, since they couldn’t tell me what they were, then called my doctor who conveniently only works M-W. So the receptionist tried giving me the results, which i’m not even sure is legal. This is how it went: “Uh it says you have a crack in the meta-tri-carpel-tunnel-osmosis-quadra-lat-rotary-girter….and I don’t know what that means”. Anyways I might have to go to a specialist on Monday. I’m basically just co-paying anyone in the greater Seattle area who wants to take a “crack” at telling me what’s wrong

As Mikey mentioned, sounds like the MSU-wsu game is going to be played in pullman after all instead of qwest field. Maybe a road trip to pullman was necessary anyway? At least it’s closer for you MT folks, although it’s 284 more miles for me. Is Tanner going? He doesn’t have the best of luck on CAT roadtrips, and I’d hate to fall in with the wrong crowd

The PBR 40s at Norms are $3.00 during happy hour, which goes until 7:00! “WOW, THAT’S A LOW PRICE”

I’m completely blown away by this whole X-ray process. I hurt my foot on Saturday, and 5 days later I still have no idea if i should be wearing a boot or using crutches or something. I bought Dave tickets for Saturday & Sunday (unrelated)

Seeley The Dog on her 2nd (14th) birthday. She’ll be partying it up at Norms tonight if you want to come by. Seeley used to be small, and now she’s big

Lately I’m thinking…

Wow I can’t belive Dave Matthews tickets go on sale a casual 7+ months before the concert – for some reason I forgot to factor that into January 2010’s finances along with all the other tickets i bought.

Well apparently I needed to see the doctor first today, so she could officially say I needed X-rays, which means I get them tomorrow. She said I should wait a couple days to get x rays anyway to make sure if something’s wrong it shows up?? Is that how far x ray technology has come? “If something’s wrong, just keep using it for a couple days and make it worse, then we’ll definitely be able to notice it.” Heather?

Kansas destroy rival Missouri last night. Aldrich is finally dominating, and had 7 blocks last night, but he has got to do something about that front tooth that got knocked out. I can’t believe he either hasn’t had it fixed yet, or just never takes his mouthpiece out. But everytime the camera is on him it looks like he’s showing it off for some reason

Lately I’m thinking…

The 2PM Georgetown pub crawl was obviously a disaster. Everyone was in bed by 10:00 PM (me by 8:00 PM), and then everyone woke up at 3:00 AM and thought it was morning. That just meant I was hung over twice after one session of drinking, once at 3:00 AM and once when I woke up again at 8:00 AM. That’s about all i have to say about that

This is really interesting…

GREAT news on the training front – I ran 6 miles on Saturday with Seeley who easily did her best job running of all time. And now the DEVASTATING news on the training front – i’m going in for x-rays tomorrow on my foot because I can barely walk – snow joke

This is really interesting…

Steph got a new shirt, and if you’ve seen her anytime in the last 7 days, then you’ve seen it.

Saw the last “Tonight Show with Conan O’brien” on Friday. First of all, he’s frickin hilarious. Second of all, NBC jacked this whole thing up so bad. I haven’t really read anything about it, but from what I can tell it seems like NBC paid 44 million to terminate Conan’s contract early, they now no longer have him on their network, he can go to a rival network in 7 months, and they don’t have a host for the tonight show. And this is all to help Leno’s ratings on a show they shouldn’t even have and nobody watches?

The Soapbox:

No more 360 degree sky-fives gone wrong until my foot is better. Nice mustache Brice

Shout out to…

The Reader of the Week…..Ladies and gentlemen….Tanner Keil! Nebel, Mikey or Demaris would announce that on the mic every time Tanner walked into the Legion – classic. It also happens to be Tanner’s bday tomorrow, so don’t forget to call him at midnight tonight just to say hello. Tanner rarely, if ever, makes good decisions, but I think he’s actually tricked himself into believing that he’s going to turn the corner any day now. I’ll give you your free cocktail after Snow Joke, courtesy of the Filling Station – that’s just a little more incentive for me to actually finish the race. Happy Bday!!

This video a player (Sylvester) on the UW football team made in high school. A lot of you don’t know who he is, and it’s kind of hard to understand what he’s saying, but the hits are just hilarious. There’s no way that nobody got hurt making it.

This is really interesting…

Steph and I were going to go this Belgianfest beer tasting thing with our neighbors tomorrow, but the tickets are sold out! But since we were already planning on a few beers during the day, we just decided to do our own Georgetown pub crawl at 12:00 PM…why not? who’s coming with us?

This is really interesting…

I went to an exhibit at the Frye Art Museum last night for a Path with Art event and then heard a local artist (Faye Jones) give a lecture about her work and process. The moral of the story (besides me being educated, well cultured, and kind of a big deal) is Heather, I want you to draw me a lot more pictures. Thanks in advance!!

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!! I’m going to try and run 5 miles tomorrow. I went to Piecoras last night and after I put parmesan on my slices the wait came over, starred at it, and then said “uhh was that intentional?”

This Journey video, wow thanks for the link Moop. These guys not only rock the air guitar, they rock the air <insert instrument name here>. Of course the only thing better than the air keyboard is the wall keyboard, go to about the 1:25 mark to see it, although I highly recommend just watching for 1 minute 25 seconds instead of jumping ahead

Happy Birthday Jamie. Feel better Maddie (faker…)

I’m with Tanner, I like Bear Grylls, and he can survive in anything, but the man vs. wild last night in MT was by far the most ridiculous one i’ve ever seen. I’ll tell you a couple things that you’ll never see me doing if I find myself in his position. A) Finding a boat in the middle of “nowhere”. B) making a rope ladder to go down a waterfall when i’m in the middle of nowhere and there is 359 degrees of other directions i could go, making my own zip line hundreds of feet above the ground, climbing 200 yards up to train tracks, and finally finding myself in that position without a pizza and a machine gun

The Soapbox:

It was really nice in Seattle today – we might set a record for warmest january of all time.

Yesterday Stephanie was trying to think of the name of a restaurant, and the only hint she could give me was that it started with an “L”. I obviously couldn’t figure it out, then she remembered it was mexican. So I was like “El Camino”? and she was like “Yeah!”. Then I said “umm i know that sounds like it starts with an ‘L’, but it actually starts with an ‘E’. And she said “I never said that”, and I was like “uh ya you did, they spell it ‘EL'”, Turns out she actually said “El” all along, I just heard it as “L”!!!! Hahah ummm……….

Last Thursday Steph came home and found Seeley the Dog had blue paws and a blue mouth. Turns out she ate a pen. While it’s no glass candle holder, I’m sure it must have been delicious. Rumor has it her first poo after that was even blue. Anyways it’s now tuesday and her paws are still blue.

There is a guy who hangs around downtown that drives this “ferrari” segway. I put ferrari in “quotation marks” because I don’t really think Ferrari is jumping into the performance segway market anytime soon. Notice the rims and phatty cart that can be attached. Oh and for good measure the guy who owns it rolls around in a Ferrari jacket and leather gloves. wow.

8.5 – Had a good weekend, dinner at volterra on friday night, open house at JB’s saturday followed by some Kings hardware (bar) then showshoeing yesterday. I also ate at the meat place with the whole company and ate the most meat, although not as much as I usually do so everything is still going okay. minus 1 point for having to work on a holiday, there aren’t even lights on in our office building lobby, it’s like a ghost town down here.

Lately I’m thinking…

We need more snow. The olympics are coming to the NW soon. Oh and so is Michael Phelps, via swimming through land….to the WINTER olympics….for some reason. Anyways this is probably about par for the kinds of updates you can expect from me on holidays.
