Shout out to…

The first Reader of the Week in 2010….Joseph Soueidi! Joey and I went to every school together since we were one year old, which includes the school of hard knocks. We actually have this same picture of us when we were 2. Joe has adult braces but should be getting them off soon. I figured since you have Monday off i would go ahead and make this the best weekend of your life by featuring you today. Sorry you didn’t win before Christmas which would have given me lots of time to buy you a cocktail, but thanks for all the Ronrico and Mr Boston rum. Click here to see a photo that shows we’re more than just tough guys. Go America!

Current Status…

10 easily! I was kind of hung over this morning (thanks AJ and Miller) but all of a sudden got really hyper and felt great! Now I’m off to MOD pizza and then dinner tonight with miss Stephanie

The husky football blog – i made my first comment on it yesterday and skeelo saw it. On the Internet! I’m really glad Sark is staying. I’m also excited that Lane Kiffen is in the Pac-10. Here was a quote the LA times got from an anonymous assistant during the early Pete Carroll years: “Chow schemed plays, Sark developed quarterbacks, and Lane got the coffee”

Shout out to…

(kind of) Britt Hesse who told me about groupon.com. Basically they email you a deal every day. It started out promising with a pizza deal, but since then the two offers have been “50% off Electrolysis” and “Up to 57% off Trapeze Class”. It’s the “Up to” part that concerns me, as those deals always turn out to be way less

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone! Couple quick hitters: Went to the UW game last night and it was a dunk fest. I’m never going in Seeley Lake again without pants and shoes. I’ve ran 3 miles since my last half marathon and I was sore for 3 days. The next half marathon is in a month. Instead of “running” it I might try instead to set the MT state record for fastest time driving a half marathon.  Holzer our reunion is June 4th!

This is really interesting…

(not interesting, obvs) I took this picture at the Blazer game we went to over Christmas, because I wondered how on earth people found their seats at the Rose Garden and what section this meant we were in. When I got to our seats to show Steph she just said “uh that’s where the sections start and end, it wraps around”. Good point. At least when I was taking the picture nobody bumped me and spilled my beer. not

Currently watching…

speaking of basketball (oh by the way this is also not really interesting) this video that shows Cole Aldrich, a graduate student team manager and 2 friends hitting 4 half court shots in a row. This just goes to prove that Kansas doesn’t rebuild its graduate student managers, it reloads. (Click here to see it)

This is really interesting…

The last 3 days we’ve had about 15-30 minutes of nerf wars at work, it’s pretty intense. I’m usually tired afterwards and I don’t even leave my desk. I’m starting to think this is going to turn into an arms race, so there’s a 0% chance that the next time I go to target I don’t buy a new gun. I’ve already walked away way too many times (or for short, “I’ve already walked aWAY too many times)

Current Status…

9.5 – AJ is currently in town so we kicked it last night, and today I got 4 free tacos from Qdoba thanks to my Q card (and the 4th possibly due to a clerical error). My day was kind of thrown for a loop though when I got to work and saw that Joey’s gadget hadn’t been updated yet

Shout out to…

Ali, my early season pick to win the Bachelor this year. She’s probably too obvious of a choice to win, but right now I can’t really see Jake marrying any of the other crazy girls. Lucky Ali got to have a private concert from Chicago last night, complete with rip roaring guitar solos and everything. Let’s slow dance!

This email that was sent in by a former employee. He was fired right when I started, probably for odd behavior. He at one point was fired and sued by Microsoft for violating a NDA, was turned in as a suspect after a suspicious bag was found at greenlake and had to be destroyed, and has a history of getting drunk and emailing in innapropriate comments. Turns out it all might have an explanation though-see the soapbox to read it.

Joey, we saw the Blind Side over Christmas, it’s super good. My grandpa has a hard time staying focused/awake at movies, but when we left he said “I can’t remember ever seeing a better movie”. That’s the equivalent of over 400 thumbs up

This is really interesting…

wazzu plays a game in seattle because there is a large # alumn/fans in Seattle that will pay to see a game here as opposed to driving to pullman. It probably also helps with recruiting exposure too. They do a bball game here at Key arena once a year too. The fact that the Montana State might be one of the games to be played here is pretty darn convenient. CATS!

The Soapbox:

“Hi Joni! This is me, Robby! I just want to apologize. I heard through the grapevine that I might have said something inappropriate to you about a year ago. I was SO stoned that day. In fact, there was a week where I don’t remember anything. I was hanging out with this guy named Oklahoma Mike, and I was taking some drugs. Thankfully, I got off my drug kick, and now I am as dorky as can be. am still single, but I feel very good about the future”

hmm looks like this guy would have been better served backing his truck towards the water. I was going to say at least my Monday isn’t as bad as this guy’s, but to be honest I’d rather be in his situation in the sunshine than in mine. Let’s jus say the weather is crappy to quite crappy right now. Thanks for the picture Dan

Lately I’m thinking…

There’s 7 days between Mondays, except when the Bachelor is on TV. In that case it feels like it’s 100 days between Mondays. I’m looking forward to tonight. (On a side note I hope in 5 years I don’t look back and feel embarrassed for watching and talking about the bachelor, but I guess that never happened with Laguna Beach, so i guess I’m good)

Steph posted this a little while ago, but I think it’s funny so I’m posting it too. Click here

Shout out to…

(this is pretty late) Sam and Britt for the birthday candy. Twizzlers in the candy bar size are probably the best deal ever, you get like 10 in that little package! Seeley wanted some peanut M&Ms, but she already went 298 M&Ms over her lifetime limit when she ate a ton, threw up all over the couch and then had to go to the vet emergency room last year.

The Soapbox:

Over the weekend (in addition to all the sports) Under Siege AND Bad Boys was on. That reminds me, bonus shout out to the guy from Tennessee who accidentally banked in a 3 pointer against Kansas, and then made 3 more in a row after that. They had a better percentage from the 3 point line then they did from the foul line, impressive.

Lately I’m thinking…

That was a lame national championship game. I wasn’t that excited about it in the first place, but then Colt McCoy went down and I was suddenly upset that the Office and 30 Rock were re-runs. Texas dominated most of the 1st quarter and yet when it was over they were down 7-6, meaning unless Alabama somehow scored -1 points the game was pretty much over. McElroy has to be the worst QB to win a title in recent memory – whenever alabama got tired of running for first downs they’d call a pass play, but he would just sit back there pump faking until he got sacked. He only completed 6 passes the whole game! At least he had less interceptions than the alabama punter though

Lately I’m thinking…

On a football related note, don’t forget your Montana State Fighting Bobcats play wazzu next year. Who’s coming with me? Everybody!

9.7 (.3 points less than I was before I read that Maddie was going to Hawaii….i’m really white….i need help….somebody save me). It’s Friday, I had some tacos for lunch, and iced grande chai in the morning, and I might go for the trifecta with an evening pizza? 2010 has been great so far, let’s keep it up.

Lately I’m thinking…

So let me get this straight, the last couple nights of bowl games leading up to tonight’s “BCS championship” consisted of the Fiesta Bowl, then the Sugar Bowl, and then the…GMAC bowl between central michigan and troy?? At least it was a good game I suppose. On a side note, this is the 45th image returned when searching for “bowl game”. I’ll take it

This is really interesting…

Steph just told me that she “lost” a chunk of her hair, like somebody took some scissors and cut off a big piece. She doesn’t know what happened. I asked if she could go out in public and she said “Ya probably for the most part”. Ummmmm

Lately I’m thinking…

About my list of new years resolutions. I haven’t come up with one yet but definitely plan on it. Hopefully I can get to it this week before it becomes a resolution just to make one. One thing I know is going on there is earlier gadget updates. I also want to go out to less dinners and out to more happy hours. Who’s coming with me

Lately I’m thinking…

I forgot how stressful college bball games were until last night. I used to think espn360 was the greatest thing ever but wasn’t thinking that last night as Kansas was losing to Cornell. make a layup and get a rebound! Anyways, Sherron killed it, obvs

Lately I’m thinking…

Have you ever noticed how a lot of celebrities have twitter names like “theRealJayWillams”, or “theRealShaq”, because imposters took over their actual names like “jayWilliams” or “shaq”? How long until the imposters start just taking celebrities names with “theReal” in front of it? I’m concerned at one point we’re going to hear somebody say something like ‘yo follow me on twitter, @noSeriouslyI’mTheRealKobeIHaveABirthmarkOnMyLeftCheekAskMyMom’

Here’s a picture of Joey holding brittney locked in the closet in the middle of a cupcake fight…at about 9:30 on a Monday night. It took about 4 minutes for the wheels to come off. I’m pretty sure Joe was the only one who had to work next day, and he couldn’t believe I was leaving his house already at 2:00 AM

This is really interesting…

(this is random) My grade school (Highland elementary) mascot was a scottie, nothing threatening or cool like a panther or tiger or something. On top of that, Mitch’s parents had scottie dogs as pets, so I feel like i just grew up in a fantasy world where i thought pretty much everyone in the world was really familiar with scotties, and loved them as much as my “I Love Scotties” pin said I did.  Shoot, maybe random was an understatement

Today is going much better than yesterday, and i’m currently enjoying a bag of cool ranch doritos. Unfortunately, someone just sent out a meeting request for 4:30-6:30 at about 4:00 PM, thanks for the heads up that my afternoon was going to suck

This is really interesting…

Wow I’ve been away a long time. A FANTASTIC vacation in MT followed by a TERRIFIC new years in Portland. Then it was my birthday and now back to work. Apparently it’s a rough transition back into the “real world” – I set my alarm wrong this morning so we woke up at 8:30 and had to catch the late crowded extra urine wagon only to find it’s pouring outside. Better luck tomorrow I suppose

This is really interesting…

This is what people wear in MT……..I didn’t feel quite as stupid at Joe’s house during the masquerade party, but felt pretty stupid when we went to the bars and nobody else even wore a mask. Well until the Joe-nado showed up, then i didn’t feel stupid at all.

This is really interesting…

So I was trying to pay the gas bill online on Friday (the 1st) but it wouldn’t let me schedule a payment until the 5th. But when I tried to pay on the 5th it said my payment would be a day late, because it was due on the 4th. So I looked into paying by phone and apparently that cost money, so i decided to look for locations to pay in person. It came back with a list of two 7-11 gas stations and a jewelry store. Really? Is this a legit company? Sounds sketchy. Hi I’ll take some pearl ear rings and can i also pay my gas bill. “Did you pay the gas bill?…Do you realize what you’ve done!!”

Lately I’m thinking…

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, I had a GREAT weekend! Tanner is dead on right, I spent most of my birthday hung over. I decided that Sunday is the worst day to have your bday on because that means you go out saturday night. Any other night you either go out the night of your actual bday or the next weekend, saving you from spending your special day in a snuggie on the couch. On a more positive note, I got a video camera for christmas that I used at Kells, click here for a good example of us forgetting there are other people at the bar (we don’t know anyone around us)
