This is really interesting…

It’s my last day at Whrrl (Pelago).  Kind of bittersweet, I’m sad to leave…but also pretty excited to have the next 3 days off.  Could use a little beach club weather cooperation though!  Start at Amazon on Tuesday.

This is really interesting…

Ryan and I went to pull in a crap pot last weekend and discovered we’d caught the biggest starfish of all time.  It was probably worth millions of dollars but we both just started screaming and threw the whole pot back in the water.  I think it tried to bite me.  Anyways, don’t go swimming in the sound, you’re not safe

Currently Reading…

This article from Missoula talking about how all the smartest kids in MT go to Montana State.  Obviously.  Thanks for the submission Mitch.  On a side note, CATS!!

Shout out to…

The Matts (Miller and Moopie) for a great meat place run for lunch.  I started and ended the meal with some parmasean pork, which will probably never happen again, and we just talked UW football the entire time in between.  Combine that with the best seat in the house and a friendly staff and you have my best meat place run to date.  Thought I felt pretty good afterwards compared to normal too, until I started walking up the hill.  I think I’ll have A saltine cracker for dinner

The soapbox…

Supposed to be much warmer at the gorge this weekend compared to last year.  Muy Bueno

Lately I’m thinking…

well that was the single most ridiculous place I’ve ever been to.  A 3 million dollar house on the water at Orcas island with a hot tube, pool, and tennis court for good measure.  We had to stop in the middle of a tennis game to run down to the water and watch about 8 Killer whales play and swim right in front of the house – amazing.   (This picture is from the ferry ride over)

Shout out to…

Nathan “Nebel” Nebel on his birthday!!! Whenever I think of Nebel I usually picture this face.  Hope you have a good one, see you in a couple weeks Officer Oldie McOlderson.

This is really interesting…

I had one of the best MOD pizzas of all time for lunch today.  I’m going to miss that place so much

Currently Watching…

This video of Kasen Williams committing to UW on Friday.  Kind of a cool twist on the ol hat selection thing putting on his Dad’s old UW jersey.  From the national recruiting editor of scout.com: “kasen williams is the No. 1 wide receiver in the United States, period”

The soapbox…

All I’ve been thinking about lately is cats and dawgs.  It’s officially the first week of college football!

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Andrea ‘Dre’ Simmons!!!  Dre is pictured here with no lenses in her glasses because she broke them out at a seahawk game and then probably forgot.  Dre has adult braces.  She also won player of the game in kickball last night, what a great week!  I would also like to formally apologize for getting you kicked out of that seahawk game a couple years ago.  phew, glad that’s settled.  Have a great weekend

This is really interesting…

Steph left some lights on in her prius last night (honestly we should just be glad she didn’t leave the entire car on at this point) so we had to jump it this morning.  I honestly felt like we were trying to defuse a bomb trying to figure out where to put those jumper cables – the positive terminal is behind multiple compartments and hatches, i’m surprised there wasn’t an eye scanner.

Shout out to…

Bone city!!  Another big win against our season 1 & season 2 rivals “los pantalones”.  Really proud of the team.  I actually did an interview with Erin Andrews after the game, see the soapbox for the transcript.

Shout out to…

Ollie Peterson on his Birthday!  You’re growing up, but will still never catch me.  Have fun this weekend

The soapbox…

Erin Andrews: You went 4-4 tonight, how does that feel?
Blade: Really?  I had no idea, the only thing I care about is that the team won.  But 4-4 sounds pretty good, that’s 1.000 average I believe

Erin Andrews: So you aren’t aware that you’re 11-12 on the year?
Blade: No idea.  I just know that we have a new game next week, and that’s my focus.

Erin Andrews: How did you feel about your switch from batting ninth to 4th?
Blade: I was a little nervous to be honest, so I played some meatloaf at Lenys beforehand and had an extra cocktail.  I’m willing to kick anywhere on the lineup that SkeeCaptain puts me.

Erin Andrews: How do you feel about this team compared to other years?
Blade: I’ve been incredibly fortunate to play on some of the best kickball teams of all time.  This team this year is special though, you can see it in people’s eyes.  I think losing in the championship last year has made us even hungrier this year.  I’ve actually been eating gyros before our games this year I’m so hungry.  But there is a long ways to go and a lot of work to do.

Erin Andrews: I love you
Blade: obvs
Blade: Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!

Shout out to…

Mikey for one of the best presents ever!!  Looks like a pretty cool shirt on it’s own, until you take is a step farther and then one more yet.  Also available in animation form (try and picture me yelling and cat growling in the last one)  CATS!

This is really interesting…

We had our first Seattle Pizza Club meeting at Flying Squirrel pizza last night.  DEliciouis.  I had an awesome time, this club is really starting to come together and I like the direction we’re headed – lot of stuff on the horizon.  We decided we should do pizza outings around once a month…and since then Jay has already scheduled another one for next week, Holler.

This is really interesting…

speaking of pizza, on Tuesday I made a 25 mile round trip visit to pick up a Stacias pizza and it was honestly a no brainer. Their owner dominates.

This is really interesting…

So usually when Steph and I are in the car we spend about 50% arguing about how each other drives, and I’m usually right about 98% of the time but usually can’t prove it.  Well we were driving to pizza yesterday and needed to go straight, but Steph was in the left turn only lane.  I told her to get over and she said “no it’s right lane right turn only, this one goes straight”.  So as we went through the guy in the right lane went straight (along with us) and I was like “that’s weird that guy must have messed it up” (sarcastically), to which she replied “ya it’s a really confusing intersection, it even had right turn only arrow in the lane too, I promise, i bet you anything”.  Well we looked on the way back and sure enough the “right lane right turn only” sign said “left turn left turn only”.  I’m concerned for our safety.

The soapbox…

Kickball at 9:45 tonight -wowszers!  Oh ya and it’s freezing.  Anyways, it’s also a going away party for Bonar at leny’s around 7:45 so hope so see you there!  sports

SPC at flying squirrel pizza tonight.  They should probably just comp us the meal in my opinion.  I hope they have good parm shakers

I’m very concerned that today is the last day of our summer.  Also, I’m proud to be an American

This is really interesting…

I was on the bus yesterday and I heard that annoying “beep beep beep” of the automatic wheelchair lift.  It was a full bus so one guy even had to get out of his seat to make room.  Well it turns out it was a lady with a cat in a stroller who needed the lift to get it on the bus.  Then the guy said “man I thought you were in wheelchair”, to which she replied “no, it’s my cat” and so he sat back down in his original seat.

bachelor pad last night.  Those people are idiots.  On a side note, next weeks episode looks epic

Lately I’m thinking…

I didn’t update this earlier because I didn’t have a photo.  Well it’s almost 4:00, so let’s just go with one of moopie at a bar

Lately I’m thinking…

Had a great weekend in Portland.  Managed to somehow shoot a 200 in golf.  I think between Nebel and I we had A par.  Next time I’m going to forget my shoes on purpose so I can play the back 9 barefoot like Ryan did.  clever

This is really interesting…

I’m out of town 4 of the next 5 weekends.  How does this keep happening!?

Currently reading…

this article about an oregon state football player who got in a 3 point stance and tried to naked tackle a cop.  He’s from kalispel.  (did we meet him and his family at Seeley lake last year?  or was that a wrestler?)

The soapbox:

Saturday was pretty social, it consisted of some golf cocktails, shot of whiskey, bottled beer, white and red wine from a casual stop at the wine tasting store, more cocktails, beer and 2 keg stands because Brett & Ryan couldn’t lose at pool.

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Brett Klitz!!  Brett is off to Italy to study abroad soon, and that means a going away party tomorrow.  Brett recently just turned 21 as well, so he’s basically living the dream right now.  My mom tried to convince me to study abroad, but i didn’t, because I’m an idiot.  Have fun Brett, and I’ll be sure to pour you a beer from the keg tomorrow as your prize.

Shout out to…

Mr Gyro who opened up there ballard store on wednesday (thanks for the heads up JB!).  I walked in with a bottle of champagne and walked out with a couple gyros and some fries – not a bad deal.

This is really interesting…

I made 4 dollars at karaoke last night!  “That’s like a dollar an hour”

Shout out to…

Britt for the punt, pass and pints ticket yesterday.  For me it was just called “pints”.

The soapbox…

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!!!

Jake Locker and I now wear the same Jersey, although mine is an adult medium

Lately I’m thinking…

Nebel, I noticed you had chicken strips as the kids option on your wedding invite.  Can you tell me if those come with fries or not?

Currently listening to…

Look it’s my first custom prompt!! wow what a significant breakthrough.  Anyways, the answer is “Mumford & Sons” – you’ve probably heard “little lion man” on the radio but the whole album is good, even though it is a little slow.  They’re basically like an Irish Avette Brothers.

Lately I’m thinking…

watching bachelor pad on the computer for 2 hours with commercials you can’t skip is pretty painful

The soapbox…

I have a belly button

This is really interesting…

Seattle Pizza Club (SPC) is officially started (meaning we have a Facebook page, things just got real).  It’s so hot right now, i’m super excited.  We’ll start to add people as the page finalizes.  I’m also excited because my favorite Seattle pizza place, piecoras, is between number 5-6 on Jay and Scott’s list, and the majority of ones they have above it I haven’t tried, so it could be a pizza discovery explosion out there for me.  I feel good about this team…lot of talent.

This is really interesting…

speaking of pizza, tutta bella is offering a free pizza all week.  No catch or restrictions, just go in and it’s one free pizza per table.  BAM SPC!

This is really interesting…

In the last month I’ve bought 3 flags.  I currently don’t even have “a” flag pole or “a” flag pole holders though, let alone many flag poles and holders that would necessitate an entire flag collection.

Currently Watching…

I totally blew it and forgot to set up a series recording of bachelor pad, so I didn’t have it on DVR last night, meaning we have to watch it online with commercials (probably downstairs because of the heat which also means setting the speakers back up ahhh).  So instead we watched Hard Knocks (those HBO shows totally dominate).  I mean, I guess I should always just say I watched something like hard knocks when considering admitting to watching a bachelorette type show, but what can ya do.

The soapbox…

Side shout out to Austin Sefarian-Jenkins
