Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Tyler Tucker!!  Tyler is an MSU grad by way of Billings West High School (da da da da da west sucks, da da da da da, except for my Mom of course, okay moving on) who now lives in Seattle.  I recently ran into Tyler last weekend at “Market Arms”…with his Grandma who had flown into Seattle from MT to party apparently.  As Tyler said “she isn’t eating very much but she’s drinking like a fish”.  Tyler’s a good guy who just happens to hold about 5 of my favorite college stories.  As your prize I owe you 6 whiskey-cokes during power hour at the crystal sometime.

This is really interesting…

On Tuesday Steph lost the one and only key to the Jeep after driving it home and unloading groceries.  We looked for it everywhere – we traced the steps to the car about 3 times with a flashlight, cleaned the whole house, looked in the freezer, the dryer, my underwear drawer…everywhere, and no luck.  Steph then cleaned the house again and looked for it for a few more hours yesterday, but nothing.  So we figured it must have been thrown away, even though we both went through the entire trash and recycling containers previously.  So I went to Jeep yesterday and they made me a key to at least open the car to see if it was in there….which it wasn’t.  In order to drive it though we had to get the car towed up there ($$), then spend $200.00 to get a new key that would start the ignition, which they would have to order so it was going to be a multiple day process.  Devastating.  So that was the plan for today anyway, until last night I thought to myself “she put the 7-up away in the fridge”, so I looked all over in it and finally found it “chillin” in the jelly shelf of the fridge door, 3 levels up from the 7-up.  It was honestly the happiest I’ve been since winning the kickball championship.  Really got me fired up for karaoke

Current Status…

10! I made enough in tips last night for the cab ride home, I’ve got Seeley with me today and I’m currently wearing my gingerbread man costume from last year and kiddies start coming around at 3:00 for some candy.  Then tomorrow it’s the UW tailgate/game followed by a Halloween party at Murphy’s – wowzers!  Oh ya and Steph updated her blog for the first time in 2010

Shout out to…

Farnum!  You’ve been in New York for a long time.  Are you ever moving back to Seattle?

The soapbox….

Have a fun and safe Halloween weekend!  Don’t forget to have your parents check your candy for you.  And Heather, don’t forget you have to go trick-or-treating even though you don’t like candy and give it all to me…that’s the deal!!  Happy Halloween everyone!  BOOOOOOOOO!!! (they’re not booing, they’re saying boooooooooo)

Lately I’m thinking…

Wow I can’t believe this weekend is here already.  I have a work party at 4:00, Mikey arrives at 5:30, and then it’s back to “work” for karaoke at the ale house at 9:00 (come on by!).  Then it’s the actual Halloween weekend…

Currently Playing…

This game, it’s a little more addicting than you would think a Tic-Tac-Toe game would be.  It’s way better with sound though as it’s pretty sweet if you win.

This is really interesting…

I was watching CNBC this morning and some analysts were arguing over what was causing Amazon’s stock to go up, until one of them finally nailed it.  Speaking of work, here’s one of Seeley’s co-workers.  I want one.  Tomorrow is also dress up for Halloween work day (at least I hope…).  I’m worried that my giant gingerbread man costume, a malamute, and little kids trick-or-treating everywhere is going to be a bit overboard on the distraction scale.

This is really interesting…

Haha the heat lost their first game.

This is really interesting…

Steph, Britt, Sam, Seeley and I went and hiked Little Si on Saturday.  It’s kind of like Big Si except it’s enjoyable.  Here’s a picture of Steph and Britt in what appears to be Fern Gully.  I’ve never had to wear pants instead of shorts when hiking before, so I wore sweat pants.

Currently Watching…

Oh I don’t know, quite possibly the funniest video of 2010!  You definitely need sound.  A couple drinks beforehand probably wouldn’t hurt either.  I was CRYING laughing.

Lately I’m thinking…

Halloween!! Wow it’s getting close.  Unfortunately, after survivng long tough winters (and Jakers) in Montana my Bart Simpson blow up succumbed to the rain and bit the dust yesterday.  Totally devastating.  What isn’t devastating though, and incredibly miraculous, is about an hour before it died my Mom text me and asked if I knew anyone who wanted some extra Halloween blow ups she was getting rid of!!!  Literally like 2 hours earlier!  Uh ya I know someone….ME!  YAY!

Lately I’m thinking…

Okay I’m going to get something off my chest.  Most everyone knows Steph is a vegetarian.  So if we go out or go somewhere I’m usually thinking in the back of my mind if there’s going to be anything Steph will like there.  I wouldn’t take her to the ham emporium and expect her to eat meat, for example.  Well 2 of her clients/friends are also vegetarians and they invited the 2 of us over for dinner.  That means it’s going to be me and 3 vegetarians!  I asked Steph to mention to them that I’m not a vegetarian, but she won’t because although she agrees it’s a double-standard, she says it’s totally different and non-vegetarians can eat vegetarian dishes.  She thinks it would be totally inappropriate to mention my preference of meat to a vegetarian.   Holy discrimination batman!  I tried looking up what the opposite of a vegetarian is, because that’s me, and all i could come up with was carnivore.  So until Steph sends them a quick little email saying “my boyfriend is a carnivore” I don’t plan on attending.  I’m taking a stand for equality.  And justice.  For all

The soapbox…

Speaking of getting hosed, Steph informed me yesterday that tonight was having a few people over tonight and not to come home for a while.  Uhhhh okay, I’ll just drive around in circles for a few hours.  Why all the segregation lately?  Why can’t everyone treat each other as equals?  Can’t we just be “co-people”?  On a side note, I went to Kells after a UW loss last weekend so that was obviously a disaster.  Next thing I know it’s 2:45 and I’m on a bus

This is really intersting…

Shana’s friend graciously volunteered to play the piano during cocktail hour at the wedding.  That meant they needed someone with experience to “volunteer” to turn the pages for her when necessary.  Look at Joey go!

Current Status…

I’m posting a strong 9.9.  It’s Friday, it’s pretty darn nice out, had a delicious iced grande chai this morning and I have Seeley at work with me and she’s being really good today (she even found a friend).  Going to see the Social Network tonight followed by a hike tomorrow and then the MSU & UW games on TV.

Shout to….

JB on his birthday tomorrow!! (You didn’t hear it from me)  Should make for a fun UW viewing experience.

Lately I’m thinking…

Only 9 more days until Halloween!  We’re already out of candy and I don’t have any of my 3 costumes put together.  I have a lot to do

The soapbox…

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!

Lately I’m thinking…

Well from the look of this picture it seems like I’m struggling and don’t see the situation ending well, and tanner looks a little concerned that this is what his life has come to, with the outcome depending on me and a 12 year old.  But then BAM – the 12 year old does save the day and everyone is happy!

Currently Watching…

“I am Alive” on the History channel about the rugby team plane crash in the Andes.  It has to be the craziest story I’ve ever heard

This is really interesting…

I saw Obama downtown coming out of Top Pot Donuts after our fundraising breakfast for Path with Art this morning.  That’s about 1 million times less exciting as Britt & Molly leaving the breakfast 2 minutes before me and going into Top Pot before he got there.  Then they got to stay in there as he came in for Donuts.  At one point he talking to Britt about her sports radio job and said “I like sports”.  AHHHH well I guess I’ll just talk with Obama next time he’s in town.  At least I got to see a secret service guy drive by holding a sub-machine gun I suppose

Happy Thursday!

Shout out to…

Mr and Mrs. Nebel on a fantastic wedding and weekend in general!  I had a seriously great time and it was fun hanging out with everyone.  (btw this isn’t Nate and Shana pictured, i don’t have any pictures yet)

This is really interesting…

In the middle of pictures we decided to have a “buddy finding drill”, where Joe split us all up in the park and then on 3 we were supposed to practice finding our drinking buddy in case we would need those skills later.  Well I ran towards Joe, slipped and fell and ripped my tuxedo pants.  Thank goodness there was a men’s warehouse 3 blocks away, where they gave me the display pair to wear to the wedding.  Unfortunately that meant I went from tux renter, to tux owner (well that pants at least, those come in really handy by themselves with a hole in the leg though).  As Joe said though, “that’s why you practice”

Currently Watching…

Well tonight at least, the UW-oregon state game!  It should be 100 times less stressful now than it would have been watching it live or when I was refreshing my phone ever 8 seconds.

This is really interesting…

I’ve had some pretty bad luck with Halloween costumes being delivered on time in the past, so this year I played it super safe and ordered one (out of 3 I plan on wearing) on October 1st.  Well for about 8 days nobody (UPS, USPS, me, the store) knew where it was.  Just found out it’s on it’s way back to the store for some reason though.  They instructed me to just order a new one and this one would be refunded, but it’s of course now sold out.  We’ll see how this goes

The soapbox…

I hope to have some pictures up tomorrow.  Sorry for the no update yesterday.  Driving back to Seattle and going to work after 4 nights with Cutting Street is tiring

Lately I’m thinking…

well usually you don’t feel too accomplished after walking 3 miles (even though it WAS for charity and involved some uphill), but running (well, walking) through a bunch of cheerleaders gets you pretty fired up.  We should hire some for kickball next year

This is really interesting…

I drove to work yesterday, then at around 3:00 I got a text from Steph saying she could give me a ride home, so I was like “great!”.  Later last night we were basically convinced my car was stolen when we couldn’t find it.  Turns out I had just left it in the garage at work, I guess so I would have it today? I’m looking forward to leaving this afternoon with a garage ticket from yesterday morning…it’s probably on sale.

Shout out to…

Not only is October Halloween Month – it’s also pizza month!  Wow, I knew October was fun, but I didn’t know it was this fun.  On a side note, did you know that more pizzas are ordered on Halloween than any other day of the year?  More than on super bowl Sunday.  Fun fact…..BAM!

Current Status…

10!  Off to Portland in a couple hours to meet up with some MT folk.  Oh ya and I had MOD today

Mitch for his scarecat – get it?  Wait, maybe it should still be a scarecrow, because birds are afraid are cats.  (Bats are attracted to light).  Anyway, the only thing scarier than this guy is the actual MSU offense.  Thanks to everyone who took care of Miss McRae at the game – next year I’ll be there….so you can supervise both of us.

Shout out to…

Blazey and Yogi who got married on Saturday!! I had an awesome time!  Now i’m trying to find 300 people to go in with Sam and I on a sandpoint country club membership – anyone interested?

Currently watching…

well Dexter has pretty much taken over.  I’m about to finish season 2.  I spent so long last night trying to decide if I should stay up until midnight (wayyy past my bedtime) and watch the final 2 episodes, that by the time I actually decided it would have had to been about 1:00 AM so I bailed and watched PTI.  On a side note, this is probably just me, but they talk to much NFL on the Monday episodes.  It’s usually like 20 minutes on the NFL, and then like 30 seconds on Alabama or Florida, and that pretty much wraps up the college football segment.  On another side note, I’m obviously glad they didn’t talk about UW

This is really interesting…

Went to REI on my lunch break – that store is too close, i don’t know what to do.  I bought 5 things, but they were all on sale and necessary to keep me warm, which is kind of ironic because this is seriously the nicest weather I’ve ever seen

Heading to Portland tomorrow after work for Nate’s wedding!

Shout out to…

Bone City!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Steph, Molly, Dre, Britt, Mel, Morgan, Sam, Miller, Kellen, Moopie, Skeelo, Ollie & Fisher.  They’re all readers of the week this week.  3 Championships in 4 years.  I just got a call from the Chicago Bulls…they want their dynasty back.  What a crazy night, we won the first game kicking against the wind in chilly fall conditions 1-0.  We had a feeling that the first team to score would probably win, and we got that run late in the game.  After that it was a really tough match against the gold team, we had gone up 5-1 going into the last inning after some stellar play, but gave up 4 runs to let them tie it!  Fisher had one go over his head for one of his very few mistakes on the whole year.  But that night we spelled redemption F.I.S.H as he kicked in the winning run in the bottom of the inning for a thrilling Bone City victory.  After winning 2 games by 1 run we just rode the momentum to a dominating 12-3 win in the championship.

This is really devastating….

(new custom prompt!!) I lost my Seeley Lake water bottle lost night because for the first time ever the bartender at leny’s noticed it and said I couldn’t bring it in.  crap.  it had a good run though, i’m surprised I had it that long to be honest

Shout out to…

The pizza ragazzi guy for bringing my pizza into the bar last night

Shout out to…

Good luck the Cats and Dawgs this weekend on a couple of homes games even though I won’t be able to make it to either.

The soapbox…

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!  Now onto the interview with Erin

Erin Andrews: First off, congratulations!  How does this feel?
Blade: Amazing.  Honestly, I feel like I’m better than everyone else I see today.  Just joking…

Erin Andrews: How did you manage to win 3 straight games like that?
Blade: Total team effort, I’m really proud of them.  We felt like we had a chance to win throughout every game, nobody got down on themselves or anyone else.

Erin Andrews: What was going through your head when you came up to kick with your team up 3-1 in the semifinals and 2 outs?
Blade: It was nice to be winning against such a tough team, I think it was Miller’s home run that put us in that position, but I knew we needed more.  So I looked right at the team and said without hesitation “I’m sending those guys home”…those guys need to go to their home.  And I knew once I got up to the plate that’s what I had to do, and BAM…I sent them.  I think that moment was the most focused I had ever been my entire life

Erin Andrews: Tell me about Fisher’s game winning kick
Blade: He’s a tremendous player.  Even after they tied the game our confidence in ourselves to finish was high.  It’s not very often you get a walk off kick like that to win a championship, so credit also goes to the people that got on base and put us in that situation with only 1 out.  Speaking of getting on base, our girls just did a tremendous job of that last night – and that sometimes goes unnoticed.  I mean I think Steph only failed to get on base once this entire season, that’s a crazy stat

Erin Andrews: How was Leny’s?
Blade: Great, just wasn’t able to stay as long as I wanted.  3 kickball games takes a lot out of you and it’s hard to gauge your buzz for that long you know?  Always fun to be there as a champion though

Erin Andrews: What on earth are you guys pointing at in that picture?
Blade: I don’t remember

Erin Andrews: Can we still do interviews even though the season is over
Blade: obvsolutely (new word)

Erin Andrews: Congrats to you and your team
Blade: Thanks Erin, and thanks to the fans who showed up and showed their support.

Shout out to…

Bone City!!  We have the quarterfinals, a potential semi-final, and a potential championship game all tonight…wow!  I’m fired up – let’s do this.  “This is it, don’t get scared now”

This is really interesting…

I’ve had the same belt for over 10 years and I’ve worn it everyday except when i wear black dress pants.  It’s all about accesorizing

This is really interesting…

Should be a short and slow entry today (see above)

Currently Watching…

Saw “The Town” on Tuesday – it’s a good movie, I would definitely recommend it.  It takes place in Austin….Austin, Massachusettes.  I also say “Wall Street” last weekend simply because it was at the Big Picture.  It wasn’t bad, but there were a couple parts where I just said “oh ya right” to myself, and it’s never a good sign if I’m the one saying that
