This is really interesting…

I’m engaged!  To a girl!  I don’t really have any pictures yet, as Steph and I both weren’t really taking a lot of camera phone pictures at the time, but the moral of the story is she said yes.

This is really interesting…

In another exciting announcement, Steph and I are both heading to Bozeman this weekend for a CATS home playoff game!!  I’m excited to stop and smell the Rosas

This is really interesting…

We got all of our Christmas decorations up Sunday.  I love it, the place feels warm and cozy, even though it was about 30 degrees inside when we got home from Thanksgiving.  It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  KEVIN!

This is really interesting…

Matt Miller has a pretty large family, so for Thanksgiving instead of heading to a relatives house, they rent out the entire lunchroom at Holy Names school!  haha that’s awesome.

The soapbox…

Thanks to everyone for all of the support – super nice!

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m in Portland for Thanksgiving, so sorry about the no-update yesterday.  Have a wonderful weekend!!

This is really interesting…

The snow just completely shuts down Seattle.  I had multiple co-workers that were in 5+ hours of commutes on the way home Tuesday.  In a lot of places it was estimated cars were moving 1 block every half hour.  One guy from work was on the bus for 4 hours from Seattle to Bellevue before just getting out and walking the last 40 minutes in the snow.  On the freeway to Portland there were just cars parked on the side of the freeway for about 10 miles, all abandoned from the night before.  wowzers.  I’m glad we got out when we did

The soapbox…

That’s all – gotta run.  Have a wonderful, safe and fun weekend everyone!!

Shout out to…

Heather!!!!!!!!  I got a new picture from her on Saturday, capping off just a great day.  It’s basically like Christmas came early.  It’s a picture of Seeley and I from Golden Gardens.  One day if I learn how to draw I’ll make you something, but until then I owe you some Taco Johns!

Shout out to…

How bout them bobcats!  They’ll be hosting a playoff game in the 2nd round and I want to go, so I haven’t put my bobcat costume away yet.  For those of you that didn’t see it, here’s a quick summary (I especially like the run

This is really interesting…

it’s somehow basically been a “blizzard” here all day, and yet there’s only an inch of snow on the ground.  Either way, that’s a ton for Seattle especially this time of year and it’s pure chaos.  I came home early today which i’m pretty happy about as I keep seeing pictures of the roads on the news.

Currently Watching…

Here’s the recap/hightlight video of the Cat-griz game.  I especially enjoy the run and tackling at the 3:07 mark

The new Reader of the Week….Eric Jacobs!!  Eric and I went to junior high and high school together, and we’re in the same gang.  He went to Redlands for college, and has since lived in every city in the US with a population over 40, currently in Denver.  Ahh the sunshine state.  One time Eric and I had an 8:00 AM Saturday tennis match but we went out Friday night anyway.  It got kind of late so we decided just to take a cab and setup a tent to sleep in the park next to the courts so we wouldn’t miss our match.  On a side note, we lost said match 6-0, 6-1 because the ball was hard to hit.  Congrats Eric, I owe you a cocktail over Christmas at the Brew Pub.  (Or would you prefer a 40?)

Currently Reading…

This article about a bobcat roaming Missoula.  We’re on your roofs people!   (On a side note, in high school English class we made a list of 50 things we want to do before we die.  #3 on my list was to own a bobcat)

This is really intereseting…

Wow, really fun boat, tailgate and game yesterday!!  We went to Jillians afterwards because that’s right were the boat dropped us off.  Apparently the video game world has really changed since last time I played.  I asked a lady working there for change because I wanted to play a quarter.  First of all she told me that you can’t play any games for only a quarter anymore, and they don’t even take quarters at all, all games take a hotel type card that you put money on.  Uhhh okay, so I put $3.00 on a card then went to play a game, but instead of how much money the game costs it’s all in points!  So one game cost 450 points, which basically means nothing to me.  I played it once and then I was out of money!  I told them it was a problem with my card, so they put some more on, but I still had no idea if the next game was going to be all my money or if it was going to ruin my card again!  Anyway I played 2 games (1,000 points) which were both lame and then I was “out” of money because it ruined my card again (I think?) so I just quit.

This is really interesting…

Check out this “Special” exchange.  Skeelo helped Steph climb this fence after the game, which was pretty nice I suppose.  Morgan and I just decided to go 5 feet to the exit and just walk out that way instead

The soapbox…

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!!!!!!! GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lately I’m thinking…

Happy Husky football Thursday everyone!  I figure I’ll work until around 1:30, go get some lunch, jump on a boat and sailgate to the game for Jake’s last home game as a Husky.  I’m on a boat!

Shout out to…

Poor Greg Oden.  Ryan pointed out he was wearing a shirt that said “part time athlete full time player”.  Well that was about 1 day before it was announced he was having, what his 3rd season ending knee operation in 4 years?  I remember being so happy that Portland took him so that we could have durant.  1 year later we didn’t have a team at all though, so i guess nobody wins.

Currently watching….

uhhhh dexter.  Thanks for nothing nebel.  stress city.  You gave me Dexter, I gave you angry birds, so we’re probably even.  Also, didn’t think I’d ever admit this, but we’ve been watching “cougar town” the last couple weeks.  It has the worst commercials/previews of any show on TV probably, but it’s actually hilarious.  It’s one of the shows where I try not to laugh because I’m protesting it or something, but I do every time.  Here’s a clip, starting at the 40 second mark this is how I picture Steph when she’s working.

This is really interesting…

It’s supposed to snow in the mountains all weekend!  It says it might even snow here this weekend, but I kind of doubt that will happen.  we’ll see!

Lately I’m thinking…

Since it’s Cat-griz weekend AND college basketball has now started I figured this picture was appropriate for today, even though it doesn’t really make sense.  On a side note, that cat costume will probably come in handy on Saturday

This is really interesting…

I played basketball last night.  For the last 2 years I’ve played once a year, in the summer bonopio tournament, until last night at least.  My “basketball shoes” are really shoes I’ve had for about 9 years that I play outdoor basketball in.  So last night I decided to just carry them in the gym so I looked official, but in reality my outdoor running shoes actually have less exposure than my “indoor” basketball shoes so I just played in them.  Thanks for listening

Currently Watching…

Bonus Shout out to Nebel for bringing my Dexter season 4!  This means there isn’t a 2-3 day turnaround from netflix when we finish a disk.  We’re already about halfway through the season.  It’s stressful and scary, so thanks for that I guess.

Lately I’m thinking…

Crap one day into my “never miss an update” program I forgot to update yesterday.  I’ve got a pretty good feeling about the rest of the year though….

The soapbox…

“Leads, yeah, sure. I’ll just check with the boys down at the crime lab, they’ve got four more detectives working on the case. They got us working in shifts!”

Lately I’m thinking…

Cat-griz this weekend!  Should be a nice little Saturday after a nice little Thursday night UW game – wowzers

This is really interesting…

I was coming back from the dog park on Sunday, and decided I would stop and get Steph some coffee and donuts, thinking it was the nicest thing of all time.  Well turns out at most it was only tied for nicest thing of all time, as she went to the store and got me coffee and donuts, leaving us with two of everything – doh!

Currently Wathching…

I’m declaring this Pemco commercial week, because I their ads are hilarious.  They basically just pick a stereotype in the northwest and make fun of them.  They have a lot more billboard ads than commercials, but there’s still a few so we’ll just kick it off with my favorite

This is really interesting…

Mikey and Nebel were in town for a concert last night, so I got to go watch football with them at a bar.  I saw Mikey two weeks ago and Nebel last weekend, so it’s kind of starting to feel like college.  Which is obviously great.

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….You!  I know that just sounds like a cop out, but everyone who ever reads this deserves an apology for only 1 update this week, and a shout out.  So you win!  My goal is to not miss another working day the rest of the year, so stay tuned for watered down content more often!  Reader of the week will continue next week – lot of great candidates out there to choose from out of the 3-4 readers.  Also bonus shout out to Bonar for coming back to America and for Witsoe who just celebrated his birthday and killed it at karaoke last night.  Witsoe doesn’t even have AOL yet, so he definitely doesn’t read this.  Someone please pass along my well wishes

Lately I’m thinking…

(this is actually a serious question, I’m not just going on a rant about nothing.  So basically it’s a question about nothing, not a rant about nothing).  Anyways, what does it mean when vitamins contain like 300% of something.  Is that like extra credit, where it’s super good?  (I’m guessing not).  Or is it like “hey buddy your body can only handle 100% but here’s a ton extra!”  Or worse yet, “100% of vitamin A is great for you, but 200% is probably bad, sorry”.   On a side note, that brings me to my actual point – if a vitamin only has 50% of your daily vitamin D needs….put 50% more in, obviously.  Or just make the vitamin twice as big.

Currently Watching…

Another ESPN 30 for 30.  They’re kind of annoying because I set them up on DVR, and then when I go to watch them the first half it’s actually the last 45 minutes of a womens volleyball match than ran late or something, so I only get to see 15 minutes of the actual show.  Wait have I already said that?  Anyways, I watched “once we were brothers”, narrated by Vlade Divac.  It’s really good.  Almost twice as good as any other episode in my opinion, you should watch it.

This is really interesting…

Nobody told me what time my “Shift” was over at karaoke last night, so I accidentally put in some overtime – been pretty tired today.  I thought it was strange I was able to sing about 7 songs in a row with Miller, but turns out it’s easier when the bar is actually closed.  I honestly had no idea.

The soapbox…

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!! No Cat orDawg game – crazy

Lately I’m thinking…

I really need to get a camera.  I took one picture on my iPhone from the oregon-UW game and it was of the sky…great.  Anyways, Seeley got a new bed this weekend, but Sofi ran and laid on it as fast as she could.  So they then proceeded to jockey for more space on the bed like they were 3 years old.  Which I guess they are.  Sofi was winning here but Seeley got to take it  home.  Wow great start today

Shout out to…

Zach and Paul, even though I’m glad I won’t see you again for months.  Also to Nate and Shana, the Klitz’s for having me, Zach’s friends, and Stephanie for driving me home from Portland yesterday.

Shout out to…

the Bobcats!  Just locked up a spot in the playoffs.  It’s also just exciting knowing there’s a chance we’ll beat the griz this year.  This way I won’t look like an idiot wearing my bobcat costume.  It’s also hard to believe UW was the first team to hold the ducks scoreless in the first quarter, and were only down by like 5 points with 2 minutes left in the 3rd…before somehow losing by over 30.

Currently watching…

moving onto the last disc of season 3 of Dexter soon.  Tonight we’re off to see Due Date though

The soapbox…

Err.  Better luck tomorrow

Lately I’m thinking…

Next year I’m going to wear a costume that makes it easier to move around in a crowded bar/party.  Maybe I’ll go as a ninja.  Or someone covered from head to toe in peanut butter

This is really interesting…

A comcast guy was going door to door to store additional services.  Unfortunately he saw me so I answered the door.  He spent about 5 awkward minutes confirming the service I already had, then flipped though some pages and said, “well that’s the lowest price we can offer, thank you”.  Great

This is really interesting…

Steph was reading “fun facts” from the Internet last night, and found one that said you can’t hum with your nose plugged.  I tried and claimed I could do it for a second before my head filled up with air and I couldn’t do it anymore.  She claimed it was obviously impossible, and I kept agreeing, except for saying it was possible the first second.  It was maybe the biggest fight we’ve ever been in.  (I just tried it 3 times and got a headache).  I might try to spread the other fun facts over a couple months or so, something to look forward to for all you guys!

This is really interesting…

Paul packed all his belongings in a giant duffel bag, even though he’s staying in 2 different cities the next two nights without a car.  So he bought a backpack for all his stuff within the first hour of landing in Portland.  Good Planning.

The soapbox…

Wow I just realized it’s Friday and not Thursday.  Right?  Reader of the week will be back next week.  Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!! Big game for the Cats this weekend.  UW has, well, unfortunately a game.
