Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Morgan Neal-Tape!!  Mogran is seen here in probably one of the best 3 to 1 ratio pictures of all time, but also probably the worst “4-1” ratio pictures of all time.  Morgan enjoys sports, tailgating and design, which is probably why we’re friends.  She also enjoys putting up with skeelo after a tailgate, but then again who doesn’t.  Congrats and I owe you 1 free Rainier tall can at Leny’s next thursday!

This is really interesting…

Steph came and met me for lunch yesterday and had Seeley with her so we took here as well.  We parked the car, and then started to cross the intersection at a four way stop and BAM seeley started pooping.  She pooped right in the middle of the street, and the guy waiting at the stop sign had to sit there until she was done and we cleaned it up.  Nature?

Shout out to…

Cam, skeelo and kellen for coming by Karaoke last night.  Lot of crowd pleasing songs out of that bunch, including an emotional rendition of “on bended knee” by boyz II men.  On a side note, I think someone told me last night that I wasn’t a very good singer

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!!!!  Unfortunately Erin Andrews and I caught up last night as part of media day before the playoffs get started
Erin Andrews:  Did you kick yesterday?  It says you got on base 0 times
Blade:  yes I kicked 4 times.  one went of my shin.  That pitcher was super lame.  Probably a good bowler though

Erin Andrews: I see here you had one catch though, good job
Blade: Ya that was basically on accident.

Erin Andrews: Oooh and about 3 errors
Blade: One time I fell down because I ran from the dirt (dry) to the grass (wet) and ate it

Erin Andrews: Wow your stock is way down right now. What do you think happened?  Obviously by looking at you I can tell it’s not because you slacked in your conditioning and weight training
Blade: Ya it’s not that, i think I’m just in a hole, and i’m going to have to dig myself out (dumb and dumber).  I need to go back to my roots, I mean yesterday I didn’t even have my fanny pack so I was just walking around with belongings in my hands, it was completely ridiculous

Erin Andrews (grinning): i could kind of see your boxers through your white shorts
Blade: I know Erin

Erin Andrews: Still wanna go to aspen??
Blade: OH yeah!!!

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week…Zak Downing!!  Zak is seen here dunking on a 10.5′ rim.  He’s also done some of the bonopio videos that I’ve linked on here before.  Here’s another one that was done at the Husky Central grand opening.  I was there, so I’m obviously completely devastated that I wasn’t inlcuded in the video – it would’ve had to be better than the time he put me on the jumbotron trying feeding Seeley a chocolate chip cookie telling her it was a duck but then having to tell her she actually couldn’t eat it because it had chocolate in it.  Anyways congrats on the big honor Zak, I owe you a PBR 12 ounce can at the tailgate tomorrow.  sports

I’m not sure what JB does during work, but he sure seems to find some great videos, like this one.  You don’t need sound, but it’s funnier with it I think.  I mean i was crying this morning

Bone city!!  Big win last night leaving the league with only 2 undefeated teams left, which we will convienently play in the regular season finale next week.  Bonus shout out to the POGs David Juan Fisher and Stephanie Klitz!!!

The soapbox…

Go Dawgs and Go Cats, both playing in the lovely state of washington!  Unfortunately even after rough games personally I still have media obligations:
Erin Andrews: You went 0-3 last night with 1 RBI
Blade: What on earth is an individual stat?  never heard of that before. All i know is we won

Erin Andrews: cut the crap
Blade: Okay.  I sucked.  But we won.  And I wore American pants
Erin Andrews: I can’t stay mad at you

Erin Andrews: Do  you think defenses are keying in on you?
Blade: Possibly, they do seem to all be moving in….and I dont’ seem to be as effective when people don’t just drop very catchable balls

Erin Andrews: What do you think was the play of the game?
Blade: Fisher made a ridiculous sliding catch.  Oh ya and he accidently knee’d a girl in the face.  So those 2 were probably tied

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Andrea ‘Dre’ Simmons!!!  Dre is pictured here with no lenses in her glasses because she broke them out at a seahawk game and then probably forgot.  Dre has adult braces.  She also won player of the game in kickball last night, what a great week!  I would also like to formally apologize for getting you kicked out of that seahawk game a couple years ago.  phew, glad that’s settled.  Have a great weekend

This is really interesting…

Steph left some lights on in her prius last night (honestly we should just be glad she didn’t leave the entire car on at this point) so we had to jump it this morning.  I honestly felt like we were trying to defuse a bomb trying to figure out where to put those jumper cables – the positive terminal is behind multiple compartments and hatches, i’m surprised there wasn’t an eye scanner.

Shout out to…

Bone city!!  Another big win against our season 1 & season 2 rivals “los pantalones”.  Really proud of the team.  I actually did an interview with Erin Andrews after the game, see the soapbox for the transcript.

Ollie Peterson on his Birthday!  You’re growing up, but will still never catch me.  Have fun this weekend

The soapbox…

Erin Andrews: You went 4-4 tonight, how does that feel?
Blade: Really?  I had no idea, the only thing I care about is that the team won.  But 4-4 sounds pretty good, that’s 1.000 average I believe

Erin Andrews: So you aren’t aware that you’re 11-12 on the year?
Blade: No idea.  I just know that we have a new game next week, and that’s my focus.

Erin Andrews: How did you feel about your switch from batting ninth to 4th?
Blade: I was a little nervous to be honest, so I played some meatloaf at Lenys beforehand and had an extra cocktail.  I’m willing to kick anywhere on the lineup that SkeeCaptain puts me.

Erin Andrews: How do you feel about this team compared to other years?
Blade: I’ve been incredibly fortunate to play on some of the best kickball teams of all time.  This team this year is special though, you can see it in people’s eyes.  I think losing in the championship last year has made us even hungrier this year.  I’ve actually been eating gyros before our games this year I’m so hungry.  But there is a long ways to go and a lot of work to do.

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Brett Klitz!!  Brett is off to Italy to study abroad soon, and that means a going away party tomorrow.  Brett recently just turned 21 as well, so he’s basically living the dream right now.  My mom tried to convince me to study abroad, but i didn’t, because I’m an idiot.  Have fun Brett, and I’ll be sure to pour you a beer from the keg tomorrow as your prize.

Shout out to…

Mr Gyro who opened up there ballard store on wednesday (thanks for the heads up JB!).  I walked in with a bottle of champagne and walked out with a couple gyros and some fries – not a bad deal.

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the week….Matt Moopie Morgan!!  Great game in kickball last night, it’s a luxury to be able to rotate 2 all stars at the 3rd base position. I think it’s safe to say Moopie likes tailgating, beer and bacon.  Not really sure how he’d order those though.  I owe you a tall can of busch light.  (and just to reiterate, moopie is seriously really good at tailgating)

Shout out to…

Bone City!!!  Huge win in an intense 1-run game!  Welcome to mid-core Orange Crush! (namely Blazey, scotty, and ahern).  I wouldn’t be surprised if both our teams meet again in one of the most anticipated championship games of all time in world history)

Shout out to…

Team Pink (Kellen, Tyson, Skeelo, Nate, Ollie, Brian, Matty)!!!  Wow what a day, after kickball and some delicious chicken strips at Leny’s we took home the tour championship at Greenlake.  Great year and event, good job sam.

This is really interesting…

unfortunately? the fun times aren’t over.  BBQ at Sam’s house tonight, all day whiffle ball tournament tomorrow, and then possibly Kells Saturday night, why not?

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Chris “skeelo” “safety isn’t an accident” Cunningham!!  Skeelo will be captaining his 4th kickball season starting next week after finishing up our first practice yesterday.  Skeelo enjoys UW sports, karaoke, dance floors and owning more iPhone 4’s so far than almost everyone in the world.  I owe you a drink, hopefully from the open bar at the wedding tomorrow.

This is really interesting…

Well Zach was in town yesterday so we hit up happy hour, kickball practice and then kickball post practice at LTD in fremont.  I’d say things were going pretty well until we went through about a 12 pack of smirnoff to ice people.  At one point zach bought 3, gave 2 of them out and then forgot where the one he was holding came from, concluding that Garrett bought it for him and he had to drink it himself.  Wow.  Anyways we ordered pizza ragazzi to the bar and pretty much closed it down playing buck hunter.  pretty social

Shout out to…

Garrett for heading down, it’s the first time we’ve met up in Seattle and it was a blast.  During one round of buck hunter he went 5-5 on perfect sites and then capped it off with a perfect bonus round.  Come to think of it we probably should have iced Garrett more.  (on a quick side note, after zach and I also went perfect on the bonus site it was up to Steph to complete the sweep and we basically just started jumping and yelling when she did)

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week…..Jakers Ostrander!!  Jakers and I were college roommates, and he’s the one that finally got the rims to stick on the B Unit for good.  Up until that point if I took a corner too fast (super easy in an 82′ subaru) they would go rolling off towards people on the sidewalk, which hurts street cred.  I used to live in Billings, and now Jakers does, unfortunately we haven’t both lived there at the same time yet.  He enjoys skiing, cruiser biking, the family gaming table and making up margarita ingredients.  Have a great weekend – I owe you a key light in a coozy!

Lately I’m thinking…

I can’t get over how fun karaoke is.  Seeing as how it’s kind of  regular thing I really wanted to sing less, well let’s just say “girly” songs.  So after I put ‘Any Man of Mine’ in the queue I decided to remove it.  By the end of the night however I sang ‘stay’ by lisa loeb, ‘that boy is mine’ by monica and brandy, and ‘bad romance’ by lady gaga.   Oh well, you can’t win them all

Shout out to…

Zak Downing – he’s the one who made our basketball draft video and now has the first golf tournament video of the year at Interbay (password bga).  He’s really talented and the video is awesome!

Lately I’m thinking…

It’s really hard having 2 jobs, especially when one involves drinking Thursday nights for no money and one involves working Friday morning.  I have a new respect for people with multiple jobs

The new Reader of the Week….Lexie (Hicks) Johnston!! Lexican is from “memphrica” Tennessee but somehow made her way west to attend YOUR Montana State University. She is now happily married, owns a house and has a dog although rumor has it she might move to Seattle simply for the karaoke scene. Congrats on your closing today, I owe you a cocktail when you move here!

Lately I’m thinking…

This is my last time talking about scrabble I promise. Yesterday was up and down – I lost the first one of the day and Steph decided to do an obnoxious victory dance for 5 minutes. Nice move captain karma. I proceeded to win the next 2 in dominating fashion. The only really frustrating this I tried to start a new game – played ALL 7 tiles on the first play of a game for a 35 point bonus, a 57 point play of the year basically…and then realized it was against the wrong Steph. I’ve now started a game against 3 different “steph k’s”, most of whom don’t want to play me. Anyways, I’m losing right now because the game is screwing me over

I’m off to a family reunion this weekend being held in south dakota – I get in tonight at midnight and then leave Sunday morning. Mitch, see you there!!!???  Bonus shout out to Dr. Heather – her flight was canceled today and she can’t make it. At least you’re making it back to MT again this summer and I’ll see you soon as well hopefully. pizza?

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week…..Brice!! Brice is a Montana State grad and Seeley Lake local who’s cabin is next door to Tanner’s, which is obviously a disaster considering he makes the same kind of bad decisions as Tanner. Last year I put 17 snake bites on his tab and he didn’t even get one – guess I should have put 18 on his tab? Anyway it should pretty much even out as you win a free cocktail for being selected this week, which I’ll have to pay you next 4th of July I imagine, so don’t forget. Shout out to…

Everyone who showed up for karaoke last night, especially to the early birds Steph, Skeelo, and Morgan. In fact, they were the only 3 there when it started, so I was a little concerned, especially when we couldn’t get the machine to work. Skeelo belted out some classics though to get the place started. By the end of the night it filled up and we had to start refusing songs at midnight – oh and I had an awesome time. Hopefully we got the reporter drunk enough that he was convinced he was having an awesome time too.

On a side note, between Steph’s tab and my cab fare this karaoke “job” is doing the opposite of making money

Mariners-yankees game tonight with an 88 degree forecast – yes please. The yankees are good. The mariners are bad. We’re probably going to trade cliff lee to them today too. He should probably just wear neutral colors and then whatever dugout he’s told to report to he can just borrow a hat or something.

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Matthew Hollllzer! Holzer and I were roommates in college, and I give him a lot of credit for helping to get me through college. Holzer lives in Portland and loves the black cat and the penguin. Mostly bars with animals in their name I suppose. He also enjoys green heineken sweatshirts, and will wear one every day for a year if you ask him too. Holz, you win one free vodka redbill or beer next time I see you, which I hope is soon.

This is really interesting…

UW had a grand opening for a new store in downtown today, so I decided to go after being at work for 1 minute. I tried getting a picture with Sark twice, but the first time I chickened out and the 2nd time my phone died. Oh well, I can probably get one when he invites me over to his bbq for best friends. Anyways, I bought a tailgate hitch cover, a portable dog bowl and some eye blacks – i’m surprised they don’t have package deal for those things or something

Lost in all this conference shuffling is Kansas, along with kansas state, iowa state, baylor and possibly missouri. What’s interesting is out of those 5 teams, 4 of them will be ranked in the pre-season top 25 for basketball next year. Out of the possibly 16 Pac 10 teams……one. Just goes to show how much more money football makes compared to basketball.

Shout out to…

Everyone who came to karaoke last night – it was probably one of the best nights of my life. I could definitely see myself quitting my job and doing that once every two weeks
