Lately I’m thinking…

Tanner you’re smart planning a week’s worth of pictures, gadgets just seem so much easier when the picture is lined up. Instead I’m sitting here scrolling through my photobucket account trying to find one I didn’t already use last week. Out of 3 pictures I was going to use this one took 3rd, but i decided to use it anyway, basically for no reason other than I’m unpredictable! what am i talking about? Anyways, I rode this bike to the gas station all by myself and rigged up the beer and ice, so i was pretty happy with myself. Scratch that, REALLY happy with myself. Unfortunately, half the ice melted on the 5 minute ride home, but seriously, what can ya do, it was hot!

This is really interesting…

Well after a 60 degree saturday with patio beers and flip flops Seattle tied a record low last night. Hey Seattle, Montana called and they want their crazy weather swings back!

This is really interesting…

Seriously though, Montana holds the U.S record for all time temperature range with the record low being -70 in January and the record high being 117 in July. What’s EVEN CRAZIER is Montana is the WORLD record holder for the greatest temperature change in 24 hours: 103 degrees! It went from -54 to 49 in Loma, MT in one day. KNOWLEDGE BOMB

Lately I’m thinking…

Unless you were in the market for some Montana fun facts and crappy random stories about last July, this update probably wasn’t for you. But seriously those weather facts are crazy

Work is really busy,I’m pretty out of it and have no idea what to talk about so i’m just going to wing this one. Anyways I went showshoeing for the 8th and probably last time yesterday. And by snowshoeing I mean walking, because the snow level has gone down so much I didn’t even need to put them on. Oh well, Seeley went crazy like normal and it was fun

Yesterday Old School was on TBS or something back to back…..so I watched it both times. “No. That’s a piece of crap. We stopped selling that six months ago. Nice gesture, though.”

This is really interesting…

One time Joey and I were skiing and went back and forth about 30 times on movie quotes. He then said “I think if we didn’t say movie quotes we wouldn’t have a single thing to talk about”. I didn’t reply to that statement, because I didn’t know what movie it was from

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m going to go off on mario kart just a little bit in the soapbox

The Soapbox:

I don’t let very many things get to me, but Mario Kart on Wii has got to be one of the most frustrating things I’ve ever dealt with. I get stressed out, and to be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if one of these days I just launch the TV over the loft railing. Another thing that bothers me besides the actually game play, is that when you quit a race it takes you all the way back to the home screen, meaning you have to select the race mode, your player, your car, and the race all over again. Listen, if I quit a race it’s because you either hit me with a spike shell 2 feet from the finish line resulting in every single computer player passing me before I can get going and finish in last, or because I’m in 8th place (from previously getting screwed over) and the last item you give me for the home stretch is a single banana, and I just want to start the race cup over, not go back and start from square one. Anyways, I beat the special cup on 150 yesterday which was my last one, so i was pretty happy about that.

Shout out to…

The new Reader Of The Week…Shooter McGavin!! PSYCH – it’s Britt Hesse! Britt regularly comments on the days gadget update, and unless she has the Cliff’s notes I’m pretty sure she reads at least most of it – and that’s more than enough to qualify! It also didn’t hurt that she got me peanut M&Ms and Twizzerls for my birthday. Enjoy your weekend of fame Britt, maybe you can cash that cocktail in tomorrow.

This is really interesting…

Yesterday I went to take a bite of a cupcake that had a ton of frosting, and in doing so got a bunch of frosting up my nose. Now I’m not telling you this because “it’s really interesting” or because I have nothing else to say (even though I don’t), it’s because it was horrible. Every time I breathed in I would smell it, and i couldn’t make it stop even after multiple nose blows. After about an hour I started to get a headache because I was basically huffing frosting every 2 seconds.

Did anyone see “The Marriage Ref” last night? I thought it was frickin hilarious. It was basically just 3 people (Sienfeld, Tina Fey and the just wonderful Eva Longeria) making fun of couples for a few minutes and then just picking a side, mostly based on if they were the same gender as the person or not. Good stuff

Current Status…

I’m at a sunny Friday 10! Iced chai in the morning, little MOD pizza for the first time all week, and a weekend with no plans ahead – can’t remember the last time that happened.

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!! Holz & Neebs, hope you enjoy the golf, i’m jealous. “Damn you people. This is golf. Not a rock concert.”

Hey like at this smaller sized playing card I have, pretty cool. OH WAIT! It’s actually huge! So is the flask! (click here!). Steph thought I was pretty stupid for buying a flask that big because “it’s going to be hard to sneak it in anywhere”. Well I haven’t come up with a response to that yet, but it’s frickin awesome. I might just try tucking it in my waiste line? Or pull it underneath a blanket in a wagon? (p.s. 421 forever)

Lately I’m thinking…

I’ve been waiting most of the year for snow good enough to pay to ski on but it never really happened. Now that it’s march though i really want to go spring skiing, that’s the best anyway. I want to go to sun valley. I also want to see Gary Allen in MT, but I can’t drive to sun valley or MT after just taking a day off to drive there. I also heard he was opening for Brooks and Dunn who are having their last tour, so maybe I should just see that somewhere? I’m also really excited for opening day of baseball season, even though it will end up being the Mariners 7th game or something. Oh well. Wait, what am i talking about? Uhh i think my point is I just want to go skiing one of these weekends. Or maybe even just sit/stand in the sun somewhere

Current Status…

10! Today has just been a good day and it’s flying by. And sunny. and i just had a mountain dew!!!! Oh by the way “modern family” just gets funnier and funnier. Yesterday there was an asian lady on the show who said “I’m just never going to be the stereotypical asian my mom wanted me to be” and then proceeded to get in a car and hit 3 different things

Great games last night. I tried watching the kansas game on my computer while the duke game was on the TV. It was really hard, especially while trying to do some work at the same time. Whenever someone took a shot on one game, i would hear a whistle from the other game and yell’ “No way that’s a foul!!”. Well turns out it wasn’t, someone on the other game was just inbounding the ball. The whole thing would have probably been easier if I just muted one of the games, but instead I just took turns turning up the volume of whatever game wasn’t on commercial until it sounded like there were multiple people in the house yelling. More thoughts on the games below

The Soapbox:

Maryland rushing the court is a great example of how it happens too often – they also broke about 3 rules from the rick reilly article. Big win for them though at home on senior night and not a bad loss for Duke by any means. As far as kansas goes, Sherron Collins has been one of my favorite players since he was a freshman, and just became the all time “winningest” players in Kansas history. Bill Self is a ridiculously good coach too. Dating back to Illinois, he’s won 8 of his last 10 conference championships. Oh ya and in the 2 years he didn’t win it, he won the conference tournament championship. See you tomorrow

Shout out to…

Wow Duke-maryland and Kansas-kansas state on the same night, what a lineup! kind of…considering the game featuring possibly two #1 seeds in the tournament (kansas and kansas state) isn’t even on TV. It is on espn360, which Seattle gets now and I think is pretty darn sweet, but I remember when the same thing happened 2 years ago for the KU-ksu game and I was hitting refresh on my computer browser every 15 seconds. One of these days somebody should probably just pick it up – maybe the ocho?

First of all sorry for repeating gadget material, both Tanner’s and Joe’s, but this is a pretty solid picture and I don’t have any other ones up yet. Boy am I glad we didn’t lose in beer pong to these two, that would have been embarassing.

Lately I’m thinking…

Joey that Dolphin boat is crazy (click here if you have no idea what I’m talking about). I’ve basically been thinking about it non stop since yesterday. Apparently it starts around $48,000, which is a lot of money for a little boat thing that only holds two people at most, but at the same time it also seems pretty cheap for a dolphin boat!!!

Currently watching…

Oh geeze don’t even get me started. First of all I felt bad for Mitch because i knew he was watching an episode last night for the first time. Second of all that’s ridiculous he picked Vienna. That was only the beginning of the rollercoaster though. I’ve never watched an episode of dancing with the stars before, and didn’t plan to, until I saw Ochocinco was going to be on it, along with Erin Andrews and 98 year old Buzz Aldren!! Then I was like “crap what if i want to watch that”. Well then that was followed up by the announcement Jake the bachelor was going to be on it, and that’s going to be a disaster so now i don’t want to. Then the bachelor concluded with that uber crappy “on the wings of love song”, but it got even worse when they had the guy do a live version of during the “after the rose” ceremony. Anyways, sorry, the whole evening was just stressful. Oh ya and I wrote off the bachelor forever, and then they obviously picked ali as the next one. I really really hope that’s not enough to get me suckered in again. Oh and Jason and what’s her names wedding is on TV now…paleeze

This is really interesting…

Current Status…

A Monday 9.8! I’m actually feeling pretty refreshed today, which is somewhat surprising considering we basically spent 2 of the last 3 days driving, and the day in between that was, well pretty social. Hopefully later this week I’ll be able to pull together some pictures and video, but until then here’s the one photo from my phone. Not sure what those two were pondering, but I’m guessing they were having a hard time at that point

Shout out to…

Tanner, Jakers and Steph for all running the half marathon and beating their time from last year!! I’m very impressed. Also shout out to Mikey and Fariah for joining me at the Filling Station during the race, so I could also improve the “time” I had. (thanks for the pun Mitch)

This is really interesting…

Well this year I was actually able to hear the race director talking into his megaphone that might be solar powered or something. He had a couple zingers including “If you get lost during the race there’s a map on the back of your T-shirt”. Mariah then informed me that every joke was the same as last year though. Maybe that’s why they’re okay with nobody hearing him.

This is really interesting…

Tanner and Mariah told me they remodeled the Filling Station, and when I walked in I thought the new bar, floor and tables looked awesome. Turns out they only remodeled the back restaurant/casino section though, I had just never seen the bar area that clean without popcorn and spilled drinks everywhere.

The Soapbox:

I should probably just plan on spending at least 40 dollars every time I’m scheduled to drive by “50,000 silver dollars” in western MT UPDATE: I don’t think the bachelor picks either girl tonight

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m off to Seeley Lake tomorrow so this is the last update of the week. We were thinking about flying into Seeley Lake but weren’t sure what “gate” we would arrive at. Oh ya and we didn’t want to land on any deer, so I guess we’re driving. I’m looking to beat my half marathon time last year of 2 hours by running in it 0 minutes. See you at the Filling Station

Lately I’m thinking…

I almost forgot about table top week, click here for the highly unnecessary Wedding Top

Currently watching…

I went and met Jake Whittenberg for a beer last night – he’s from Billings and was my next door neighbor in the dorms. He’s moving here to be a reporter for King 5 news, which should make the news much more entertaining to watch. “You stay classy, San Diego. I’m Ron Burgundy?”

This is really interesting…

A co-worker just came up to my desk to ask me a question, and commented on how organized my nerf darts were. I then went to look for a piece of paper for him and couldn’t find it anywhere, because turns out that “stuff” is super UN-organized. oh well

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone! “Oh, I can reserve you a flight coming *back* from Chicago at 5:55. Does that help? “

This is really interesting…

This was my first “in motion” table top – while we were walking I had to dive at Sputter, basically like I was an offensive lineman going at the knees of engaged defender. Anyways, Jakers pushed him, he fell in the snow and we all started laughing. After writing that, I’m starting to notice an interesting trend – Jakers has been involved in every table top I’ve posted on table top week! First me, then Joe and I, and now Andrew! I wonder if the TT karma is going to catch up to him soon….

This is really interesting…

Speaking of karma, Steph and I went to lunch at Boka today, and with the check they brought these little mini cookies with a kind of rasperry filling. Steph had one, and after telling her I didn’t want one she pretty much forced me to. So I took a bite and the whole thing just completely disintegrated/blew up into about 100 pieces all over the table. I’ve never seen anything like it, it was like it was a trick cookie or something similar to the trick golf balls. Steph then rolled her eyes and said “it’s weird mine didn’t do that” in a mocking tone. She then took a bite of hers and bit her entire lip so hard it started bleeding.  HA HA

This is really interesting…

(Wow lot’s of interesting stuff today) Steph and I started to watch Frost Nixon from Netflix last night at like 9:00. We were pretty distracted though and each had to stop the movie to answer a phone call. By the time it was 9:30 we decided it was too late and would just watch it the next day. So we started flipping through the comcast guide on TV and there was nothing on, but on HBO they were showing…you guessed it, Frost Nixon!! I clicked on it to see where it was in the movie and it was honestly less than 10 seconds earlier than where we stopped the DVD – it was almost like just taking the DVD off pause. So we just proceeded to watch the whole rest of the movie on HBO. It felt kind of weird mailing the netflix back this morning, considering we only watched about a 1/4 of the actual DVD

Shout out to…

Miss McRae and Heather – sounds like they are doing quite the number cleaning up the basement on Ave F. Don’t throw away my Sega Genesis!

I don’t have a lot of material today, but let’s go! Not sure that this is a traditional table top picture, but it did involve 2 people up to no good (jakers and tanner) knocking some people over and then pointing and laughing at them. Click here for the before picture, including my brand new drink I had made seconds before. Oh ya, and you can also see Jakers up to no good! (sorry if you’ve already seen these pictures)

Currently watching…

The Kansas game and women tell all on the bachelor – both were pretty boring compared to normal, although it was good to hear from Ali. Kansas now has a 58 game home win streak – do you know how ridiculous that is? It was over 3 years ago! Sienna is 2nd place with 34 and the closest school from a major conference is Duke/Kentucky with 17

This is really interesting…

Speaking of the NCAA, Mikey got our first round tickets in the mail yesterday and I also became a UW football season ticket holder. Now if only I could actually go back to college

This is really interesting…

I bought an electrc sander this weekend and sanded our gate down so that it swings freely without kind of getting stuck when opening and closing it. Our neighbors was way worse than ours, so I spent a lot of time and sandpaper working on his as well. Anyways, in front of our house we each have a patch of grass about big enough for a coffin each (bad example?). Well yesterday he mowed his 3 x 6 piece of grass…and didn’t mow ours. I think it actually makes his side look worse being next to a little patch of not mowed grass. very strange. Oh and I obviously don’t have a lawn mower for a patch of grass that size – i’m not even sure what he used. Maybe I’ll just let seeley eat a little bit of it each day and throw it up, since she seems to like to do that on walks

The Soapbox:

Apparently there’s a hard rock cafe by pike’s place now. A cool 95 minutes later I’m back in the office – let’s just say the whole process wasn’t as fast as say picking up jimmy johns or something. I did get to see the “pretty fly for a white guy” video though, and was reminded just how good of album Foreigners greatest hits was. Holzer, how about some Juke Box Hero to get ready to go out??
