Shout out to…

Mr. Jake Locker! Wow, quite the sports news day in Seattle – first Todd McShay at ESPN predicted locker as the #1 overall pick in the NFL draft, then Locker announced he’s returning to UW next year. Then about 5 minutes ago it was just reported the Mariners are getting Cliff Lee from the Phillies. I’m convinced that the Phillies should have pitched him every game against the yankees in the world series regarldess of rest and they would have won

Lately I’m thinking…

Pretty darn fun weekend – we did karaoke on Friday night which I’ll hopefully have pictures of later. We basically just rented out a private room at this karaoke place that has all the equipment in it, and with a banquet permit you just bring your own alcohol and start singing, it was great! “Like to rock?”

This is really interesting…

Well I got talked into seeing “new moon” yesterday with Steph and Heather, and considering I hadn’t read any of the books or even seen the first movie I was really just going for the popcorn. Anyways, let’s just say there was a surprising amount of moms there, screaming and giggling everytime a guy walked around with his shirt off, which by the way was about 88% of the time

This is really interesting…

Speaking of new moon – Heather got a 3 foot tall movie poster of “jacob” from our Christmas gift exchange while stephanie got a “hello kitty” water cooler. I took last with a can of “spotted dick”, which after a quick google search to figure out what the heck it was confirmed that somebody spent way less than the 20 dollar limit on a present.

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Heather Imsande! Heather is in her 4th year of med school at Boston University (austin massachusetts?), although I still drop medical knowledge bombs on her all the time. She’s also an accomplished <insert anything here>. She’ll be in Seattle all week (hopefully doing chores) so we get a pre-Christmas bonus break together this year. Enjoy your free cocktail tonight Heather! (don’t forget to pay for the rest)

This mind blowing video Mitch sent to me this morning – click here to see it. Warning, it’s actually mind blowing. On a side note, Robin Hood and Jungle Book are terrific movies. I’m not even mad….that’s amazing

This is really interesting…

We went to Steph’s Christmas party last night at Ponti, and those things are funny enough on their own, but they also a gift exchange with like 50 people (it takes an hour). I swear there are almost fights over some items, it’s out of control. Steph’s big plan this year was to claim the gift we originally brought and act like we didn’t know what it was, but it was obviously spoiled when someone ‘stole’ it from us. So then we shifted our focus from just finding something we could re-gift to the white elephant exchange at my Christmas party on Saturday. After a few steals and some side trades, we walked away with a snuggie. Steph actually traded a guy a blanket with NO sleeves for it, what an IDIOT!! hahahha

Lately I’m thinking…

My knee’s kind of been popping lately and I kind of hurt my hip reaching down my left side to pick something up, but my snow joke training routine of not training isn’t suffering at all! On a side note, steph literally ran over my heel today when I got out of the car after I explicitly told her I didn’t want to get out of the car while it was moving

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!! I’m coming home the 18th – 30th, and although I have to work a couple of those days I’m very excited for the extended stay!!!

my family is in florida…..and I’m in new york? (okay that’s from home alone 2 – whatever, it’s a technicality! ) How about….”You guys give up? Or are you thirsty for more”

Lately I’m thinking…

Well as you might have already guessed by now…I don’t have very much for this update, mostly because I feel like I just updated yesterday’s a couple hours ago and to be honest, not much has happened since then. Go Cats!

This is probably the dumbest video I’ve ever seen – click here to see it – A guy bet that the saints would lose to the crappy redskins, and if they didn’t people could shoot up his giant TV. Oh and on an even dumber note, he went through with it. D.U.M.

Shout out to…

The Klitz’s for hosting Heather yesterday/today and for Heather for coming into Seattle today. NOW START PAINTING! jokes jokes. but seriously. what?

Lately I’m thinking…

If anyone would like a delicious hot chocolate that was stirred via magnetic waves, is served at the perfect temperature, and is probably the most delicious hot chocolate you’ve ever had, feel free to stop by anytime and I’ll fire up the COCOA MOTION! I just had the first cup of the year and it was DE-licioius

This is really interesting…

I don’t think Seeley shed a single hair in november, i mean maybe a couple, but definitely the least amount of hair since she was a puppy. But since december hit and we’ve had record lows for this time of the year in seattle, it’s like she’s having a shedding contest with herself. Does that even make sense? Shedding for the winter? I feel like Seeley needs some extra help sometimes

This is really interesting…

Speaking of seeley, we went to the dog park today and this hyper grade school kid showed up and somehow got seeley’s attention. Then he started running away and in my head I was like “don’t run from a predator, it sparks their instincts, just play dead!” (I had just watched a show about a bear attack). Anyways Seeley bolted after him, chased him down, and he stopped close to us and said “the fastest kid in school just got out-ran by a dog”. Anyways about 2 minutes later he was running around and ate it pretty hard on his own

Lately I’m thinking…

Sorry for the late update today. On a side note I had mr gyro today and i love that place

Shout out to…

Miss McRae for the Christmas stockings! In order from left to right we have mine, Seeley’s (yes, she is a dog, thank you), and Steph’s. Oh also keep in mind that they’re hanging on our loft railing…yes they’re gigantic. Santa could give me a recliner for Christmas (cross your fingers!) and there’ a good chance it would fit in my stocking. fun fact: Miss McRae loves her some Costco

Just about every update on my “facebook feed” involves someone talking about how cold it is, and rightly so. And I know everything is relative to where you grow up, and I’m freezing my little tush off too every time I walk somewhere for lunch or wait for the bus, but holy smokes look at some of these temps (compared to the current 33 in Seattle). The HIGH today is bozeman is -5 degrees. It’s been -15 in Seeley Lake the last 4 hours with an expected high of “0” (wow they have a long way to go, probably not gonna make it). The most it’s supposed to change in billings from the middle of the night to the middle of the day is apparenty 5 degrees, as the high is -3 and the low is -8. Brrrrr! On a side note, you’ve got to love the sun and the views in Seattle

This is really interesting…

Last night at Jaks Steph ordered Halibut stuffed with crab – it was one of the best seafood dish I’ve ever tasted.

Shout out to…

Stephanie Klitz on her birthday!! Sorry you had to work on your big day…and give me a ride to work on your big day, but i appreciate it. I hope you have a wondeful day and I love you!

This is really interesting…

Fun little dental tip that i’m not quite sure mrs. thompson would sign off on – last night steph flossed her teeth in literally 8 seconds, then said “I have a new method, you just do it as fast as you can. You might not get every tooth….” that’s when I just rolled me eyes and started walking away. She never finished her sentence, but i figured i’d heard enough of this groundbreaking idea

Lately I’m thinking…

What a great weekend – Kells was a blast on Friday, great UW game on saturday to finish the season with 2 big wins, I got stacias pizza for dinner where they still remembered my name and then some extreme snowshoeing action with skeelo, morgan, steph, and seeley on sunday. I mean the seahawks even won yesterday. Too bad Montana State wasn’t still playing or it could have been the trifecta! On a side note, the bobcats hardly ever lose playoff games….

This is really interesting…

The BCS is lame

The new Reader of the Week……Pat Hopps! You’ve heard of the most interesting man in the world? Well Pat’s probably one of the most fascinating. Pat is married to Katie and is expecting a baby soon! He was last seen roaming the UW sideline wearing plaid shorts in the middle of a chilly october game. Apologies to all the readers for the abrupt change from a victorias secret model to what looks like an under-dressed Pat at a formal get together…nice bib snow pants. Enjoy your cocktail and fame Pat!

This video is pretty funny – click here to see it. Apparently florida state makes a habit of having their O-linemen remain still in order to draw offside flags. It looks like this guy just fell asleep.

This is really interesting…

Well oregon won, it was a great game to watch. Have fun demolishing ohio state in the rose bowl. I’m just sad we’re going to miss out on all the story lines that would have come from OSU playing OSU….can you imagine!!? Also mini shout out to oregon for actually wearing their school colors during a football game, even though it took semi-throw back jerseys to do it.

Lately I’m thinking…

My snow joke training is going great so far – i haven’t had to leave the couch.

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!! See you at Kells if you’re in Seattle

Lately I’m thinking…

I don’t have a picture for today, so i had to settle for this one, sorry.

Current Status…

How about a 10! Blind Pilot was SUPER good last night, I was able to sleep in a little bit this morning, then got a peppermint mocha at starbucks which is easily the closest thing to actual coffee I get, so I was pretty happy about that. I felt way more official walking around with a “hot drink” cup from starbucks as opposed to my iced chai cup. Business. I also got free chiptole for lunch and it was DElicious. I took some work guys who didn’t know about the free offer today, and then they also gave us 4 additional burritos to take back to the office, so basically i’m killing it here today. Good call molly/ollie

Shout out to…

The Oregon State Beavers! Here’s the deal, I dont’ care for either oregon school, although it is cool for them that their rivalry game is for the rose bowl and it should be a great game. From my perspective though the fans (besides friends) from oregon state are way easier to handle then the fans from oregon. And I’m rooting for Brett to have fun at the game, but I really can’t think of scenario where i would root for the ducks. Maybe if they played the griz or something, but in that case I think I would just cheer on a natural disaster. On a side note, are they even rivals? I swear every other car i see in oregon has both a duck flag and beaver flag on it – it’s the strangest thing i’ve ever seen.

This is really interesting…

Down the street from us there’s this “woodworking” store that sells hobby stuff for woodworking or something. For the last couple months they’ve had about 8 giant signs all over the building (almost overlapping each other) that all say “giant sale!!”. A) If you’re always having a giant blowout sale nobody is going to take you seriously and B) maybe it would be easier to just not sell woodworking products in 2009

The Soapbox:

Jokebox: Here’s a couple tiger wood jokes from Dan Buri: The police asked Tiger’s wife how many times she hit him. “I don’t know exactly…put me down for a 5.” ZING – Phil Mickelson contacted Tiger’s wife to pick up tips on how to beat Tiger. ZING – Tiger Woods owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one. ZING – Q: What’s the difference between a car and a golf ball? A: Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards. ZINGGGGGGG

I traded the van for it straight up. I can get 70 miles to the gallon on this hog

This is really interesting…

Quite the lineup starting today: Blind Pilot concert tonight, watching husky bball and civil war (more on that in the next edition) tomorrow, Kells friday night, husky game saturday and maybe snowshoeing on sunday? In unrelated news, I feel like Wednesdays are usually pretty slow for my gadget content, sorry

This is really interesting…

Joey, I haven’t had a chance to watch the victorias secret fashion show yet, but I will. Unforunately I went to bed at 10:00 PM! last night so it was past my bedtime. I don’t mind mens Uggs as long as A) they’re less than $6.95 and B) you wear them in the house or to go get the paper. I’m guessing in most cases neither of those apply.

Currently watching…

Modern Family. It took me a couple episodes to get into it but it’s a funny show. I recommend watching it whatever night it’s on

We got the Christmas tree up last night! Looks like I accidentally strung lights up on stephanie too – wow, nice pajamas. I’d say this picture was actually taken a little premature of the jump we were going for. Click here to see someone else pretty darn excited about Christmas

This is really interesting…

Speaking of Steph, we were playing apples to apples at her house over the weekend and the green card was “delightful”. Steph was the one picking that round, and discarded “boyfriend” first as the worst card. Wow, talk about a slap in the face. By the end of the game I felt better though, it turns out she’s just really bad at picking winning cards. Next time around she chose the “ozone layer” as the winner over “michael jackson” for “fake”. Everyone around the table just got up and left.

This is really interesting…

Heather is currently with my Aunt Donna in Texas, who I got a call from at 5:30 AM this morning!! Apparently they forgot the west coast is 2 hours behind? I mean even without that knowledge bomb it was too early, I don’t get up until 7:45 – 8:00. What makes it even more confusing is my ring is the same sound as my alarm, so I thought I had to get up and start my day in the middle of the night. And to top it all off, when i checked the voicemail at lunch, this is what it said (to song, with heather laughing in the background): “Good morning, good morning, how are you, this morning? Good morning, good morning, to you”. Simply Stunning

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m going to go off on “Uggs” for a minute, i feel like i’ve been holding it in and need to get it out. See the soapbox for more

The Soapbox:

I don’t know a single guy who likes Uggs. I don’t even know someone who knows someone who knows a guy who likes Uggs. They’re slippers, plain and simple, and somehow girls get away with wearing them out everywhere. I mean I don’t care if you wear slippers out, but don’t wear slippers out and pretend along with every other girl in the world that they’re fashionable and not actually ‘slippers’. You look silly. This weekend steph told me “Uggs came back”. Uhhhh A) they were never here so B) they never left, which means C) They never came back. She also claimed one day that girls just dress for other girls so that’s why they don’t care if guys don’t like Uggs. does that mean girls in the bars wore low tops for other girls? nope. Ugghhhs. Yep, i feel better. CATS!
