10! Last day of work for the week as we’re hitting the road (ro-ad, rowds) for portland this evening. Figured on the way I might as well stop and pick up Joe and Britt at the airport who are making their 2nd NW trip in a month. I’ll see the rest of you rascals tomorrow. CATS

Yesterday Steph got not one, not two, but THREE different car citation responses in the mail from the city of Seattle. I felt like we were playing scratch tickets or something as we opened them up to see what the verdict was. They waived the expired tabs ticket (since we just hadn’t put them on it, my bad), reduced the fine for blocking a cross walk (totally bogus ticket) and kept her speeding ticket where it was at. I’m not dating a criminal or anything, she just had a rough stretch. (but for her complaining about how slow the jeep is, she has over 1 million times more speeding tickets than me with it in Seattle). On a side note, it’s great having steph’s gadget back. It actually makes me more upset that I had to go without it for so long though.

They replaced a little glass recycling container at work with a 5 foot tall one. Now it’s pretty much impossible to recycle the bottles of beer that you sneak without alerting everyone with the sound of broken glass. Okay so i obviously don’t sneak bottles of beer, but it’s still loud when you throw stuff in there. And that would be harder in the future if i ever did

I was reading a husky football chat from the blog yesterday, and of course there’s always a lot of speculation/questions about Locker going to the NFL next year. Maybe this guy who wrote in was joking, but for the gadgets sake I’m going to assume he wasn’t (and i wouldn’t put it past anyone on those). Here’s his post: “Bob, I personally don’t know the Lockers, but one of the cousins plays for my youth team and he believes Jake is coming back to the Dawgs next year. Not that 10 year olds are reliable resources, but he is confident.”

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!! This would be a great weekend to call me and check in if you haven’t in a while…..CATS! (oh p.s. i linked the family reunion page one more time)

I saw “Alaskan State Troopers” on the national geographic channel last night. First of all, i want to be an alaskan state trooper, fo real. Second of all, my favorite part of the narrative was “Alaska is one of the most isolated states in the country”. Uh ya, I’d definitely put it in the top 2

This article about a guy in Minnesota who got a DWI for running his “lazy boy” into a parked car on the way home from the bar. Wow, I hope this guy didn’t ruin motorized lazy boys for the rest of us!

TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY! I ORIGINALLY HAD MY WHOLE GADGET IN CAPS, THEN DID A PREVIEW AND REALIZED IT WAS WAY OVER THE TOP AND I FELT BAD FOR MY READER(S). I REALIZED THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO THOUGH INSTEAD OF RE-WRITE IT, SO I DECIDED TO JUST PUBLISH IT ANYWAY. WELL THEN I FRICKIN LOST MY UPDATE – WHICH IS FRUSTRATING BUT IT AT LEAST GAVE ME A SECOND CHANCE TO EASE UP ON THE CAPS. I DON’T KNOW WHAT WE’RE YELLING ABOUT!

The Soapbox:

Steph asked me to print this in today’s issue of the Daylight Savings Times: “i want everyone to know that i really appreciate you letting me drive the car, and i acknowledge it’s a huge sacrifice on your part, and that it’s super nice of you (but you also win b/c your payment is less)”. As you can see from this picture (not counting joe’s face) the Jeep goes WAY over 59 miles per hour.

Check out this giant inflatable balloon with Santa in it. I made steph get in the picture as a reference for how big it is. After I took the picture Steph casually mentioned “there’s a zero percent chance you can get that and put it up in the yard”. It’s not going in our yard steph, it’s going in our living room

The latest “40 yard dash” by Pat Forde on espn.com. He hands out some midseason awards which includes a nonimation of washington as most dramatic team of the year. By far the best part about the article is him choosing university of montana coach bobby hauck as “Bum” of the half year. classic

Steph and I went to napa autoparts yesterday because both brake lights are out in the ol’ liberty. As we were outside examinng the brake lights trying to figure out how on earth we were going to get them off, a couple of employees were working on other cars right next to us, but didn’t offer to help. After trying to read the owners manual for about 5 minutes we decided to just go in and ask. Well apparently we spent too long trying to figure out what the heck was going on….because it had closed 4 minutes earlier.

Dominos (btw i haven’t ordered it since college i don’t think, but i might soon) has a deal where one large pizza and “cinna-sticks” are 6 dollars. As a disclaimer they say “limit of 256 per household”. A) where on eath did they come up with that number 2. the pizzas wouldn’t seem very cheap if you spent over $1500 dollars for it C) this would be a great opportunity for maddie and i to try our pizza delivery boat service!

The Soapbox:

well at least i didn’t use a spoon
