Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Andrea ‘Dre’ Simmons!!!  Dre is pictured here with no lenses in her glasses because she broke them out at a seahawk game and then probably forgot.  Dre has adult braces.  She also won player of the game in kickball last night, what a great week!  I would also like to formally apologize for getting you kicked out of that seahawk game a couple years ago.  phew, glad that’s settled.  Have a great weekend

This is really interesting…

Steph left some lights on in her prius last night (honestly we should just be glad she didn’t leave the entire car on at this point) so we had to jump it this morning.  I honestly felt like we were trying to defuse a bomb trying to figure out where to put those jumper cables – the positive terminal is behind multiple compartments and hatches, i’m surprised there wasn’t an eye scanner.

Shout out to…

Bone city!!  Another big win against our season 1 & season 2 rivals “los pantalones”.  Really proud of the team.  I actually did an interview with Erin Andrews after the game, see the soapbox for the transcript.

Shout out to…

Ollie Peterson on his Birthday!  You’re growing up, but will still never catch me.  Have fun this weekend

The soapbox…

Erin Andrews: You went 4-4 tonight, how does that feel?
Blade: Really?  I had no idea, the only thing I care about is that the team won.  But 4-4 sounds pretty good, that’s 1.000 average I believe

Erin Andrews: So you aren’t aware that you’re 11-12 on the year?
Blade: No idea.  I just know that we have a new game next week, and that’s my focus.

Erin Andrews: How did you feel about your switch from batting ninth to 4th?
Blade: I was a little nervous to be honest, so I played some meatloaf at Lenys beforehand and had an extra cocktail.  I’m willing to kick anywhere on the lineup that SkeeCaptain puts me.

Erin Andrews: How do you feel about this team compared to other years?
Blade: I’ve been incredibly fortunate to play on some of the best kickball teams of all time.  This team this year is special though, you can see it in people’s eyes.  I think losing in the championship last year has made us even hungrier this year.  I’ve actually been eating gyros before our games this year I’m so hungry.  But there is a long ways to go and a lot of work to do.

Erin Andrews: I love you
Blade: obvs
Blade: Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the week….Matt Moopie Morgan!!  Great game in kickball last night, it’s a luxury to be able to rotate 2 all stars at the 3rd base position. I think it’s safe to say Moopie likes tailgating, beer and bacon.  Not really sure how he’d order those though.  I owe you a tall can of busch light.  (and just to reiterate, moopie is seriously really good at tailgating)

Shout out to…

Bone City!!!  Huge win in an intense 1-run game!  Welcome to mid-core Orange Crush! (namely Blazey, scotty, and ahern).  I wouldn’t be surprised if both our teams meet again in one of the most anticipated championship games of all time in world history)

Shout out to…

Team Pink (Kellen, Tyson, Skeelo, Nate, Ollie, Brian, Matty)!!!  Wow what a day, after kickball and some delicious chicken strips at Leny’s we took home the tour championship at Greenlake.  Great year and event, good job sam.

This is really interesting…

unfortunately? the fun times aren’t over.  BBQ at Sam’s house tonight, all day whiffle ball tournament tomorrow, and then possibly Kells Saturday night, why not?

The soapbox…

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!!  I think Steph’s officially better than me in golf.  Seeley was the most well behaved she’s ever been while golfing, she sat down at every green and tee box until everyone was done.  meaning she’s probably better at golf than me too (she had some glow gear of her own).  “in case you’re wondering my jacket size is 44 long, and my right arm’s just a little longer than my left”

Lately I’m thinking…

Well yesterday was a good news day.  company went to kingfish cafe (delicious) for lunch, Stephanie and I went to El Camino for dinner (delicious), Seeley got a new purple leash and our season tickets came in the mail.

Lately I’m thinking…

today’s lineup is just ridiculous as well.  Kicball at 6:15 against our friends the “orange crush” (can’t believe that team name wasn’t taken…), a post-kickball/pre-golf celebration at Leny’s Bar, the season ending glow-ball golf tournament at Greenlake once it gets dark, and then a post celebration at St. Andrews.  Hello Thursday!  Sorry Friday!

Shout out to…

Team Pink!  Let’s win the tour championship tonight!  Golf is all about concentration (although I’m still trying to find a way around that, stay tuned)

Currently reading…

this website of the so called 50 best Saturday cartoons from JB (Jon Brown, good guy).  I didn’t really know any in the 50-35 range, Thundercats was WAY too low, and #1 and #2 are pretty bomb in my opinion.

The soapbox…

I’m running a new (probably one day) feature called “presents you should never buy for joe”.  Here’s one (Thanks Zak)

Lately I’m thinking…

no reader of the week this week as this is a super late update.  Next week for sure though!

Currently Reading…

Here’s a link to Steph’s post on my pizza eating for the new blog readers out there – pretty good stuff

This is really interesting…

Steph’s out of town but made it very clear I mail a package for her as soon as I possibly could.  So I took it to work yesterday, taped it all up, and then went to the post office to fill in the address.  Turns out it’s a Seattle address, about 1 mile from our kickball game that night.  I texted her to see if i should just drop it off but didn’t hear back in time so I mailed it.  So basically I paid $8.00 to have it shipped to a place that would take 1 extra day then me just dropping it off that afternoon.  I’m probably the first person in united states history to mail a package to someone in their same city

Shout out to…

Some newbies Mike Self and big Jim Miller for showing up to karaoke last night.  I had an awesome time.  There were these 2 girls there who were totally ringers, probably the best singers I’ve ever heard who did a bunch of songs.  And what was their last request??  “Anything for love” by meatloaf.  Well it’s safe to say since I was in charge and had a microphone that my name snuck into that lineup.  Oh and Bone City dominated, obviously.  I went 3-3, 3R and caught 3 pop-ups, no bid deal.

The soapbox…

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!  “Well, I have a microphone, and you don’t, SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY DAMN WORD I HAVE TO SAY!”  UPDATE:  This is my 200th gadget-blog update, congrats everyone who read more than one

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m actually quite concerned that icing seems to be taking off.  Anyways Jakers thanks for relaying the message to Joe.

Currently watching…

I forgot to mention that the season finale of the bachelorette was Monday night.  The reason I forgot might be because I vowed never to watch the bachelor or bachelorette again now that this season is over – Ollie and I both actually agreed on that.  I’m a grown ass man.  On a side note, we did agree it would be okay to watch “bachelor pad” because that’s an entirerly new show.

This is really interesting…

Seeley and Steph are both gone until Sunday!  The house went from a fun zone to a boring zone, which doesn’t bode well for the power blinds batteries

This is really interesting…

wow what a day!  First game of the kickball season and then it’s straight to wedgewood for karaoke!

The soapbox…

Lately I’m thinking…

That’s it – I can’t stand not knowing if the gadget is going to be dead or alive each day. And it’s hard coming up with goodbye speeches like 4 days in a row. So this is it, the last of the gadgets.  Blade America will go on

Lately I’m thinking…

Goodbye iGoogle page, I no longer need you. It just brings back too many memories.  On a side note sorry for the no update yesterday – we had a 3 hour company lunch and then a 90 minute meeting and that’s pretty much all she wrote

Shout out to…

Zach Benoit!  He’s in town from lovely MT for the evening.  Unfortunately it’s not karaoke night, but we do have kickball and post-kickball practice tonight so that should suffice.  post-kickball practice is my favorite

This is really interesting…

Last year we bought a window air conditioner and took it back the same day when we realized we were going to need to drill holes to install it.  Then a couple days ago we bought a “portable” one that sits on the ground in front of a window instead.  (btw “portable” isn’t the best word, considering the power cord is 3 feet long and it says not to use an extention cord, and also the hose to the window is 3 feet long, but heck it’s on wheels and weighs 96 pounds so even though you can’t move it let’s call it portable)  Anyways the moral of the story is we took it back 1 day later.  We suck at air conditioning

The Soapbox:

For 80 degree days it’s absolutely freezing in the morning

Shout out to…

Bone City – we had a good year. We beat an undefeated team in the semifinal on thursday 16-4 or something, but then fell in the championship by 2. We had 5 starters out on the last night and felt there were some “questionable” calls in the last game. Don’t worry though because the ref was partying it up pretty hard with her friends on the winning team after the game…. Everyone played great on Thursday though and it was a good/fun year and these are the kinds of things that motivate you to be better the next year. sports. kickball.

Lately I’m thinking…

I think I could catch a squirrel if I wanted to. There are a lot in our neighborhood and they don’t seem overly fast or smart to me. I’m scared they would bite me though and give me squirrel rabies or something (squabies). So i’ve been thinking about wearing a pair of heavy duty gloves around so if the opportunity presents itself I can go for it

This is really interesting…

Annie and Casey got married this weekend and had an open bar! Oh man, i seriously couldn’t contain my excitement, and the food was delicious too. Still, somehow I found myself at the bar next door at about 12:30 AM buying tequilla shots. Then someone casually said “okay now let’s go back to the place that has free liquor”. Doh! On a side note, if Annie still reads this thing – Congrats!

Currently watching…

Wild Pacific. It’s basically a planet earth show about the pacific ocean and it’s islands. fun fact: i want to go fiji or new zealand. But a snowy bozeman will do for now – CATS!

The Soapbox:

“Yeah I called her up. She gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her, or something. I don’t know, I wasn’t really paying attention”

Current Status…

I’m on an emotional rollercoaster. Not good travel news out of the Soueidi camp – you rascals at least better make homecoming. We also have our last kickball game(s) tonight but some peeps out and a pretty decent chance of rain. I need to mentally focus. On a side note, nobody knows who that guy in the picture is

Lately I’m thinking…

I bless the rains down in Africa

This is really interesting…

yesterday on the way home I went to my bus stop, waited there for about 5 mnutes, then stared at my bus as it came, stopped, opened it’s doors, closed them, and then drove off. hmmmm good effort at least. So i caught the next one….

This is really interesting…

I got this program called “Synergy” that lets you use one mouse and keyboard for multiple different machines. So basically if you had a mac and a windows machine you could just move your mouse back and forth between machines. It’s out of control

The Soapbox:

I’d like to point out steph is the one who told me about the mariners prediction, apparently i forgot to mention that yesterday. It was also on PTI when i got home. I’ll leave the link up for one more day.

Here’s a picture of Steph from Friday after she claimed she wasn’t drunk and would take a sobriety test to prove it. First of all nobody says that unless they are actually drunk, just ask Mikey. Second of all sober people don’t have the patience to stand there looking at the ceiling while counting in their head for 60 seconds, or in her case 45 seconds.

This is really interesting…

We play the unicorns in kickball today in our last game of the regular season. We’re looking to go 4-0 all time against our rivals/favorite team tonight but they seem to be much improved. Tonight should be one of the most fun of the entire season, buckle up!

Lately I’m thinking…

sorry for the no update yesterday, work got in the way. I might try a 2nd add-on update later today

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m seriously only thinking about kickball. And about the string of events going on starting saturday morning and ending the Monday 9 days later…

The Soapbox:

CATS!

PTI on the old DVR (divr) when i get home from work – i love it. I thought Ricky Rubios picture from a couple days ago was pretty funny, i’m not sure why. I mean, does this guy look like he would be as competive as Kobe Bryant or Garnett?

This is really interesting…

Kickball tonight against a 3-1 team, should be a good one. We’re starting to get to the point in the season where there are playoff and seeding implications. This is serious stuff.

Lately I’m thinking…

That the week just seems to be a little bit better with daily gadget updates from holzer. Now if only nebel would figure out his WAM problem and get the Internet on his email machine we would be in business

Lately I’m thinking…

I completely understand why people thought Greg Paulus was annoying, and he was never my favorite player there, but he really should have played more his senior year. I know he wasn’t great on defense (honestly who can guard ty lawson in college) but he became a nails 3 point shooter his junior year out of nowhere. Anyways that was a side note i guess – he’s now playing QB for syracuse football – i didn’t see the game but i read he actually played well. I’d love to see him slap the turf with both hands after a big first down

The Soapbox:

Seeley tried chewing up the cap on a liquor bottle yesterday. By some miracle she left the full bottle leaning almost completely upright with no cap on it and only about half a shot spilled – she must not like the taste of it and immediately stopped when she tasted it. Since the taste seeemed to stop her I’m thinking about pouring it out over everything valuable we have as a preventative measure…but i don’t want to waste the booze.
