Stuff is going down in college football! USC just go smacked with a 2 year bowl ban and 10 less scholarships each year for 3 years. Nebraska is now in the big 10, which actually already had 11 so now they’re kind of the big 12. And the former big 12 had 11 (for about 6 hours), but technically they could call themselves the big 10 based on the precendent of incorrect naming set by the former big 10. still with me? let’s move onto the next line at least

Well since then Colorodo has already left the former big 12 for the pac-10. That’s just another domino falling in a possible mega pac-10, who if anything will add utah but more than likely add Texas, A&M, Tech, OU, OSU instead. I like the tradition of the pac-10 in that they were the only conference to play a full round robin schedule, but there’s a reason no other conference did that. It guarantees 1 more loss for half of the conference. Besides that our TV contract was absolutely horrible and we weren’t making as much money as other conferences. It’s estimated each school will make 20 million more a year now if it ends up being the pac-16. Oh and even more late-breaking news….Jake Locker was voted “sexiest jake” against jake gyllenhaal on espn sportsnation last night

The Unit – we’ve officially been in our house for 1 year today. That’s pretty crazy to think about how fast it went by. Just got a couple new plants yesterday too to bring the total up to 4 (yes plantar is still hanging on). One year later I’m still hoping for power blinds though. Obviously nobody that reads this thing has taken my subtle hint to just go buy me some power blinds!!!

Golden Tate (rookie on the seahawks) was caught “breaking in” to a top pot donuts in seattle a couple days ago. Turns out he lives in the building and knows the owner, so went in there one night for a maple bar. Someone saw him and called the cops, even though no charges were filed. At a press conference he said “since I’ve moved to seattle I’ve been eating top pot dounts, the maple bars are irresistable”. When Pete Carrol was asked about his said “Those maple bars are pretty irresistable”. classic

The Soapbox:

Oh ya masoli was kicked off oregon yesterday. He was never really known for his passing, but going from heisman candidate to suspended for a year to kicked off the team was a pretty good run!! zing!!

parts of the draft all weekend. The seahawks appeared to do really well (judging by grades that don’t mean anything until players end up playing) but some people had them as having the best draft and gave them an “A”. This picture is of blount from oregon (the guy that punched the boise state player) who was a concern because of “character issues”. In the 6th round they went live to the camera in his house and he was….sleeping. If I was just about to draft him and saw that, I’d probably just pick someone else personally.

I planned on going skiing at Steven’s last Sunday on their last day, but prom was saturday night so…I didn’t make it. But Steph and I ended up going to Mt Baker yesterday and it was frickin awesome. Sunny and 50 degrees with some new snow and fresh brews

This is really interesting…

On the drive up yesterday Steph said “I can’t believe it’s almost may,it feels like it was just april”. Uh pretty sure it “feels” that way every year

Went to “Kick Ass” at the big picture saturday night – it was really good actually. On a side note – did I read somewhere they aren’t showing it in Billings because of the title?

The Soapbox:

UW-ucla game is going to be Thursday night on ESPN – that should make for a productive Friday

Well considering I was at the office from 9AM – 10PM yesterday nothing has really happened since I last updated besides me going to bed, so this again might be a stretch. “Are there such things as horse socks? Is anybody listening to me?”

Lately I’m thinking…

Nebel, please don’t talk about golf when it’s frickin windy and raining – i can see white caps on the sound right now and thought I saw snow earlier (turns out they were pedals because all the trees got tricked into it being summer last week and bloomed) Uh anyways, back to the “point”, as if i had one. Oh ya, it’s coming full circle now…speaking of golf, here’s a picture of Mariah and I golfing. Heather had a good point about the photo that pretty much hit the nail on the head, “this encompasses many of the reasons why i beat you at golf.”

I got an evite from work for a beer pong contest in the office tomorrow. I was pretty excited about that, until I remembered what usually happens to me playing beer pong, and i’m not sure there’s a great intersection between that and being at work

Well Chip Kelly really backed himself into a corner with this whole jeremiah masoli / lamichael james thing. One of my favorite parts about the whole thing is their incidents are completely unrelated, but they both have their court dates on the same day tomorrow. Maybe everyone can carpool? Click here for an article about kelly’s tough spot (if you even care. i’m pretty much over it and actually think he might hand down a hard punishment sometime today. or at least that’s what everyone would assume he would do)

Tanner I’m having problems updating my gadget too, it’s now a couple click process – i almost deleted my own gadget yesterday! Not sure how you invite yourself back to it if it’s deleted. Anyways, here’s a picture of us walking the wrong direction towards husky stadium a couple years ago. The only thing that makes hitchhiking harder than walking away from the stadium, is stopping to pick up free furniture “on the way”

This article about yet another oregon football player in trouble. I thought LeGarrette Blount’s problems last year were early in the season, but I guess not compared to this year. Already 2 players have been kicked off the team, both kickers were beat up and charged with assualt (one on a girl), the qb is a suspect in a robbery and now LaMichael James is in prison for assault. Maybe oregon should play their running backs on defense as well, as it appears that LaGarrette and LaMichael Laboth LaLike to LaHit people

A couple of quick hitters: The president of Toyota is named Akio “Toyoda” – did someone mispell something somewhere down the line? Or is that guy unrelated but they hired him because he sounded like it would be a good fit? I emailed the great falls reunion committee yesterday to see if i could go. I need a haircut SUPER bad but i don’t feel like calling the place, and haven’t the entire week

This is really interesting…

I ran out of things to say one prompt too early

The new Reader of the Week……Pat Hopps! You’ve heard of the most interesting man in the world? Well Pat’s probably one of the most fascinating. Pat is married to Katie and is expecting a baby soon! He was last seen roaming the UW sideline wearing plaid shorts in the middle of a chilly october game. Apologies to all the readers for the abrupt change from a victorias secret model to what looks like an under-dressed Pat at a formal get together…nice bib snow pants. Enjoy your cocktail and fame Pat!

This video is pretty funny – click here to see it. Apparently florida state makes a habit of having their O-linemen remain still in order to draw offside flags. It looks like this guy just fell asleep.

This is really interesting…

Well oregon won, it was a great game to watch. Have fun demolishing ohio state in the rose bowl. I’m just sad we’re going to miss out on all the story lines that would have come from OSU playing OSU….can you imagine!!? Also mini shout out to oregon for actually wearing their school colors during a football game, even though it took semi-throw back jerseys to do it.

Lately I’m thinking…

My snow joke training is going great so far – i haven’t had to leave the couch.

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!! See you at Kells if you’re in Seattle

Lately I’m thinking…

I don’t have a picture for today, so i had to settle for this one, sorry.

Current Status…

How about a 10! Blind Pilot was SUPER good last night, I was able to sleep in a little bit this morning, then got a peppermint mocha at starbucks which is easily the closest thing to actual coffee I get, so I was pretty happy about that. I felt way more official walking around with a “hot drink” cup from starbucks as opposed to my iced chai cup. Business. I also got free chiptole for lunch and it was DElicious. I took some work guys who didn’t know about the free offer today, and then they also gave us 4 additional burritos to take back to the office, so basically i’m killing it here today. Good call molly/ollie

Shout out to…

The Oregon State Beavers! Here’s the deal, I dont’ care for either oregon school, although it is cool for them that their rivalry game is for the rose bowl and it should be a great game. From my perspective though the fans (besides friends) from oregon state are way easier to handle then the fans from oregon. And I’m rooting for Brett to have fun at the game, but I really can’t think of scenario where i would root for the ducks. Maybe if they played the griz or something, but in that case I think I would just cheer on a natural disaster. On a side note, are they even rivals? I swear every other car i see in oregon has both a duck flag and beaver flag on it – it’s the strangest thing i’ve ever seen.

Down the street from us there’s this “woodworking” store that sells hobby stuff for woodworking or something. For the last couple months they’ve had about 8 giant signs all over the building (almost overlapping each other) that all say “giant sale!!”. A) If you’re always having a giant blowout sale nobody is going to take you seriously and B) maybe it would be easier to just not sell woodworking products in 2009

The Soapbox:

Jokebox: Here’s a couple tiger wood jokes from Dan Buri: The police asked Tiger’s wife how many times she hit him. “I don’t know exactly…put me down for a 5.” ZING – Phil Mickelson contacted Tiger’s wife to pick up tips on how to beat Tiger. ZING – Tiger Woods owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one. ZING – Q: What’s the difference between a car and a golf ball? A: Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards. ZINGGGGGGG

This is a picture of the two living things I own – Seeley and my yet to be named plant. I literally started laughing out loud after I took this picture and thought about putting it on my gadget. Maddie, one day down and only 5 more to go on plant care! (even though i haven’t done anything yet, i’m not sure if you’re supposed to)

This article about Ivar haglund – he started the seafood restaurant “ivars” here and was known as one of the greatest self promoters in seattle history. Apparently back in the day he though underwater travel was going to be huge, so he put giant billboards at the bottom of puget sound that said stuff like “Diver’s special, come on up for fish n chips, kids get free jello!”. This could have also fit under the “This is really interesting category”

Lately I’m thinking…

I’m going to see Pearl Jam tonight! Oh and nebel, pretty good points on the gadget. rats

This is really interesting…

So we all now what happened to “LaGarette Blount” on Oregon who was suspended for the year for flipping out in Boise. But did you know the running back who replaced him is named “LaMichael James”! What happens if he gets hurt, are they going to send in LePaul, or maybe LaChristopher! (yes i am aware my name is blade and i don’t have a lot of room to make fun of different names, but honestly at least my name isn’t LeBlade) (Okay actually when i wrote that i said it in a french accent so maybe that will be my french name)

The Soapbox:

Are you guys tired of me talking about Jake Locker yet? Okay Great! Here’s a quote from Pete Carroll a couple days ago: “That’s the best quarterback we’ve played in nine years here. Jake Locker has ridiculous talent, and had he remained healthy last year, Tyrone [Willingham] would still be coaching there.” and then reiterated that quote the next day after being reminded who he has coached against

I’M HYPER! 10! Nate and Shana get back in town tonight, and then it’s to the gorge tomorrow to see some cutting street family members. Oh and at 12:00 PM we have our work fantasy football draft. We’re going in to a conference room so we can all talk trash while we do it so i’m pretty jacked for that as well. I have 2nd pick and i’m thinking of taking Ricky Williams, just like auto draft did for me a couple years ago when he didn’t even play in the NFL. BEEP BOP BOOP

Lately I’m Thinking…

That “leGarette” Blount on Oregon had a bad day yesterday. Here’s his stats from the game: 8 carries for -5 yards, tackled for a safety, stopped short on a 4th down rush, 1 person sucker punched, 4 fans went after. I don’t know who’s the bigger thug – Blount or the mascot (click the video). I think everyone at Oregon (except for Brett, his friends and Zach) needs an attitute adjustment

Shout Out To…

Everyone on Bone City for their 2 kickball wins yesterday. Everyone played really well. Sam got POG in the first for his 87 RBIs, and Fisher in the 2nd for the best catch in kickball history. Moop capped it off with a home run as well. I played 3rd base about the same way as Manny Ramirez would play it, but luckily we had more than enough offense to compensate. Man i get compared to Manny Rameriz all the time….

This is really interesting…

Alaska airlines is having a sale on airline tickets – even ones for Christmas! Holzer you should check it out. I just bought a ticket for homecoming that not only was on sale, but flights from seattle to bozeman in October get an additional 10% off – BAM! I’m excited. I’m probably going to buy my christmas one today too. I just wish they weren’t on the same months credit card bill. Oh and get this, my confirmation code for bozeman is “PAJHNS” – it’s probably the same thing as Papa John’s personalized license plate!!! This is outrageous!

The Soapbox…

Have a fun and Safe EXTENDED weekend everyone!!!!!
