This is really interesting…

Seattle Pizza Club (SPC) is officially started (meaning we have a Facebook page, things just got real).  It’s so hot right now, i’m super excited.  We’ll start to add people as the page finalizes.  I’m also excited because my favorite Seattle pizza place, piecoras, is between number 5-6 on Jay and Scott’s list, and the majority of ones they have above it I haven’t tried, so it could be a pizza discovery explosion out there for me.  I feel good about this team…lot of talent.

This is really interesting…

speaking of pizza, tutta bella is offering a free pizza all week.  No catch or restrictions, just go in and it’s one free pizza per table.  BAM SPC!

This is really interesting…

In the last month I’ve bought 3 flags.  I currently don’t even have “a” flag pole or “a” flag pole holders though, let alone many flag poles and holders that would necessitate an entire flag collection.

Currently Watching…

I totally blew it and forgot to set up a series recording of bachelor pad, so I didn’t have it on DVR last night, meaning we have to watch it online with commercials (probably downstairs because of the heat which also means setting the speakers back up ahhh).  So instead we watched Hard Knocks (those HBO shows totally dominate).  I mean, I guess I should always just say I watched something like hard knocks when considering admitting to watching a bachelorette type show, but what can ya do.

The soapbox…

Side shout out to Austin Sefarian-Jenkins

Lately I’m thinking…

Well yesterday was a good news day.  company went to kingfish cafe (delicious) for lunch, Stephanie and I went to El Camino for dinner (delicious), Seeley got a new purple leash and our season tickets came in the mail.

Lately I’m thinking…

today’s lineup is just ridiculous as well.  Kicball at 6:15 against our friends the “orange crush” (can’t believe that team name wasn’t taken…), a post-kickball/pre-golf celebration at Leny’s Bar, the season ending glow-ball golf tournament at Greenlake once it gets dark, and then a post celebration at St. Andrews.  Hello Thursday!  Sorry Friday!

Shout out to…

Team Pink!  Let’s win the tour championship tonight!  Golf is all about concentration (although I’m still trying to find a way around that, stay tuned)

Currently reading…

this website of the so called 50 best Saturday cartoons from JB (Jon Brown, good guy).  I didn’t really know any in the 50-35 range, Thundercats was WAY too low, and #1 and #2 are pretty bomb in my opinion.

The soapbox…

I’m running a new (probably one day) feature called “presents you should never buy for joe”.  Here’s one (Thanks Zak)

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Matthew Hollllzer! Holzer and I were roommates in college, and I give him a lot of credit for helping to get me through college. Holzer lives in Portland and loves the black cat and the penguin. Mostly bars with animals in their name I suppose. He also enjoys green heineken sweatshirts, and will wear one every day for a year if you ask him too. Holz, you win one free vodka redbill or beer next time I see you, which I hope is soon.

This is really interesting…

UW had a grand opening for a new store in downtown today, so I decided to go after being at work for 1 minute. I tried getting a picture with Sark twice, but the first time I chickened out and the 2nd time my phone died. Oh well, I can probably get one when he invites me over to his bbq for best friends. Anyways, I bought a tailgate hitch cover, a portable dog bowl and some eye blacks – i’m surprised they don’t have package deal for those things or something

This is really interesting…

Lost in all this conference shuffling is Kansas, along with kansas state, iowa state, baylor and possibly missouri. What’s interesting is out of those 5 teams, 4 of them will be ranked in the pre-season top 25 for basketball next year. Out of the possibly 16 Pac 10 teams……one. Just goes to show how much more money football makes compared to basketball.

Shout out to…

Everyone who came to karaoke last night – it was probably one of the best nights of my life. I could definitely see myself quitting my job and doing that once every two weeks

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!! I’m looking forward to a lot of fun and sun.

Stuff is going down in college football! USC just go smacked with a 2 year bowl ban and 10 less scholarships each year for 3 years. Nebraska is now in the big 10, which actually already had 11 so now they’re kind of the big 12. And the former big 12 had 11 (for about 6 hours), but technically they could call themselves the big 10 based on the precendent of incorrect naming set by the former big 10. still with me? let’s move onto the next line at least

Well since then Colorodo has already left the former big 12 for the pac-10. That’s just another domino falling in a possible mega pac-10, who if anything will add utah but more than likely add Texas, A&M, Tech, OU, OSU instead. I like the tradition of the pac-10 in that they were the only conference to play a full round robin schedule, but there’s a reason no other conference did that. It guarantees 1 more loss for half of the conference. Besides that our TV contract was absolutely horrible and we weren’t making as much money as other conferences. It’s estimated each school will make 20 million more a year now if it ends up being the pac-16. Oh and even more late-breaking news….Jake Locker was voted “sexiest jake” against jake gyllenhaal on espn sportsnation last night

Shout out to…

The Unit – we’ve officially been in our house for 1 year today. That’s pretty crazy to think about how fast it went by. Just got a couple new plants yesterday too to bring the total up to 4 (yes plantar is still hanging on). One year later I’m still hoping for power blinds though. Obviously nobody that reads this thing has taken my subtle hint to just go buy me some power blinds!!!

This is really interesting…

Golden Tate (rookie on the seahawks) was caught “breaking in” to a top pot donuts in seattle a couple days ago. Turns out he lives in the building and knows the owner, so went in there one night for a maple bar. Someone saw him and called the cops, even though no charges were filed. At a press conference he said “since I’ve moved to seattle I’ve been eating top pot dounts, the maple bars are irresistable”. When Pete Carrol was asked about his said “Those maple bars are pretty irresistable”. classic

The Soapbox:

Oh ya masoli was kicked off oregon yesterday. He was never really known for his passing, but going from heisman candidate to suspended for a year to kicked off the team was a pretty good run!! zing!!

Shout out to…

The new Reader of the Week….Matty Mark Miller! Miller’s birthday is May 4th, or quatro de matt-o as i like to call it. Matt enjoys velour jumpsuits, sitting by bonfires until 5 AM, and drinking twice as much as I do per sitting. Happy Birthday and enjoy your free cocktail!

I saw 15 seconds of teen cribs yesterday before I switched the channel. If you ever want to get really mad, just watch a show about a bunch of 13 year old punks sliding down a waterslide from their bedroom to their own personal foam pizza & dance party (or something). Probably the worst show on TV my personal opinion

This is really interesting…

I love steph’s prius – I like the little shifter thing, I like the dashboard hologram light things and I like the fact we took it skiing on a 5 hour round trip and it used less than a half tank of gas and averaged 64 mpg the entire way home. But they have got to do something about reminding you to turn it off. Yesterday we went eat and I pushed the ‘park’ button instead of the ‘off’ button. We came out an hour later and the dashboard lights were on, meaning it was just running the whole time. Worst part is now I can’t make fun of Steph whenever she does that. oops

This is really interesting…

It’s the last day to buy discounted Path with Art tickets – click the link to do so and enter the promo code PATH09 to get the discount. It puts the “fun” in “fundraiser”. Holzer I’m looking at you

The Soapbox:

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!! Husky spring game tonight followed by Portland tomorrow (enough time for golf) then onto Eugene to see Brett and his family, back to Portland Sunday and then Seattle Monday morning – wowzers. Have fun cycling Jakers and Joey – accidents don’t just happen, remember that. Bonus shout out to Tanner, Mikey, Maddie, Steph, Holzer, Nebel, Heather and Elie

Lately I’m thinking…

I just started browsing my summer/fall schedule – ouch. Turns out I’m going to miss *at least* half of the husky home games. On a side note, I have husky season tickets…

parts of the draft all weekend. The seahawks appeared to do really well (judging by grades that don’t mean anything until players end up playing) but some people had them as having the best draft and gave them an “A”. This picture is of blount from oregon (the guy that punched the boise state player) who was a concern because of “character issues”. In the 6th round they went live to the camera in his house and he was….sleeping. If I was just about to draft him and saw that, I’d probably just pick someone else personally.

This is really interesting…

I planned on going skiing at Steven’s last Sunday on their last day, but prom was saturday night so…I didn’t make it. But Steph and I ended up going to Mt Baker yesterday and it was frickin awesome. Sunny and 50 degrees with some new snow and fresh brews

This is really interesting…

On the drive up yesterday Steph said “I can’t believe it’s almost may,it feels like it was just april”. Uh pretty sure it “feels” that way every year

Went to “Kick Ass” at the big picture saturday night – it was really good actually. On a side note – did I read somewhere they aren’t showing it in Billings because of the title?

Lately I’m thinking…

Hey what do you know it’s ‘Worst Update of the Week Wednesday’! This picture made me chuckle for a couple reasons. The motorcycles in the background, making Joey look especially ridiculous for being on a bicycle trying to tow a car. And then the fact the car says “car ramrod” and for some reason “dirty south” on the side – was that because we lived in south side bozeman? That direction always seemed like north to me. On a side note – the B Unit and it’s rims look especially polished up

Currently reading…

This is a pretty good article about Jake Locker in the New York Times.  Speaking of, I’m thinking about going to the practice on Saturday – anybody want to go?

Currently watching…

The clock – going to the mariners game tonight. I’m also watching the windows hoping it gets a little bit nicer today.

This is really interesting…

Well we’ve spent the last 3 days watching episodes of weeds on the wii…that’s pretty much it. So I asked steph what she thought about getting rid of cable for the summer, to which she replied “That’s for people that think they’re cool but really they’re not”. Uh okay. Anyways I think we’re going to do it.

The Soapbox:

Tanner, that’s the gift that keeps on giving throughout the entire year.

Lately I’m thinking…

Husky spring football practice starts today

Lately I’m thinking…

The ncaa tournament, although I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. I was so stressed out during the Duke game that I could hear my heart pounding and there was still 14 minutes left in the game. At one point I honestly considered leaving my phone unlocked with 911 already dialed in, so that if i needed to go to the hospital I could just hit dial

This is really interesting…

Mikey, Aldrich really only played 2 years considering he played so few minutes his freshman year. When he dominated Hansbrough in the final four that was basically the first time he played in the tournament game, because I remember everyone saying “who in the heck is that tall white guy and where did he come from”. He’s a projected lotery pick so can’t blame him for leaving, although a week ago I thought it was probably a 50% chance. I won’t be rooting for Michigan State in their first matchup because I don’t like their fans remember? On a side note, i have a pretty good feeling about bobcat football this year

Currently watching…

I’m going to watch Last of the Mohicans tonight. Steph said I’ll be the last of the americans to watch that movie, but she’s never seen a single star wars movie so I guess the room she has to talk doesn’t have any vacancy

The Soapbox:

Montana Fun Fact of the Day: “Montana mountain goats will butt heads so hard their hooves fall off.” AHAHHAHAHAHAHHA

I don’t have a lot of material today, but let’s go! Not sure that this is a traditional table top picture, but it did involve 2 people up to no good (jakers and tanner) knocking some people over and then pointing and laughing at them. Click here for the before picture, including my brand new drink I had made seconds before. Oh ya, and you can also see Jakers up to no good! (sorry if you’ve already seen these pictures)

Currently watching…

The Kansas game and women tell all on the bachelor – both were pretty boring compared to normal, although it was good to hear from Ali. Kansas now has a 58 game home win streak – do you know how ridiculous that is? It was over 3 years ago! Sienna is 2nd place with 34 and the closest school from a major conference is Duke/Kentucky with 17

This is really interesting…

Speaking of the NCAA, Mikey got our first round tickets in the mail yesterday and I also became a UW football season ticket holder. Now if only I could actually go back to college

This is really interesting…

I bought an electrc sander this weekend and sanded our gate down so that it swings freely without kind of getting stuck when opening and closing it. Our neighbors was way worse than ours, so I spent a lot of time and sandpaper working on his as well. Anyways, in front of our house we each have a patch of grass about big enough for a coffin each (bad example?). Well yesterday he mowed his 3 x 6 piece of grass…and didn’t mow ours. I think it actually makes his side look worse being next to a little patch of not mowed grass. very strange. Oh and I obviously don’t have a lawn mower for a patch of grass that size – i’m not even sure what he used. Maybe I’ll just let seeley eat a little bit of it each day and throw it up, since she seems to like to do that on walks

The Soapbox:

Apparently there’s a hard rock cafe by pike’s place now. A cool 95 minutes later I’m back in the office – let’s just say the whole process wasn’t as fast as say picking up jimmy johns or something. I did get to see the “pretty fly for a white guy” video though, and was reminded just how good of album Foreigners greatest hits was. Holzer, how about some Juke Box Hero to get ready to go out??
